very capable good quality light-weight chainsaw
this is a surprisingly capable chainsaw, well-built, nice and comfortable to hold (not heavy at all) with a reasonable number of cuts if you use 2x 5- or 6-Ah Makita batteries

Cuts like a petrol saw
Great saw, cuts like a petrol model no shortage of power. This is a full chainsaw so has the standard bolt and screw chain fitting/tightening system which I prefer over the quick tighten models but this won't be for everyone. Chains are easy to buy fit and tighten but they are a less used size. I have seen people on the internet change the chain and bar to the standard size if this is a problem but I have just used the standard ones. They cut extremely fast with high chain speeds and good clearance. Chain oil is easily filled and adjusted even the lowest setting works for me on softwood but on hardwood it needs to be increased although I have never needed it to the max. Battery life is excellent when cutting/felling trees and the dual charger is great charging both batteries in 45 mins max. The charger does have the fans which are noisy but this means you can charge even a hot battery at full speed unlike several other brands. Standard power sharpeners work for the chains and the chains/bars are the same price range as most others at this length and are available from Amazon (they are the Oregon brand). My top recommendation for this item would be make sure you have all of the protective equipment this is not a small battery powered saw for pruning bushes this item is really for more serious use.

Very good saw
I bought this to take down a large cherry tree in my garden, which had been pollarded severely and was basically dead. I've invested in Makita tools lately, so already had the batteries and charger. Overall it performs very well, taking down the tree and large branches with ease. The only thing I would say is the battery life is not what I expected from the reviews, such that I think it must be a problem with my batteries. I have been getting about ten minutes use out of it before needing to recharge, so cutting the logs into a size suitable for storage and drying out is going to take days and days at that rate. I will try investing in some more batteries, but my current two (5ah) are not that old and power all my other Makita kit without a problem (wheelbarrow, hand saw, drill, hedge trimmer etc.) Pros: Easy to assemble Lightweight Powerful Not that noisy Easy to operate Cons: Battery life is short

Eats batteries but is awesome
Angry little machine! Could do with a thicker bar to take a heavier chain, but I think that would increase its appetite for batteries

A good quality product
I have a few Makita battery powered tools and have never been disappointed. If you have a lot to cut, extra batteries will be a big help because heavy work will run them down quickly. If possible, cut wood before it gets old and hard. It saves on time and battery power.

Amazing item
Bought for my partner a d it's his fav go to item. He has every tool going but was really impressed with this. Highly recommend. Quality finish and worth the money. Easy to use amd good battery life if you use actual ones and not fakes. These are bought separately

Worth its weight in gold
Well, almost, but for someone like me, who has a wood burning stove and access to a friend’s woodland this machine has easily earned its place in my workshop. I have never used a petrol powered chainsaw so cannot compare it. However, for a novice like me, it is well balanced and efficient. I only have 4ah batteries and it does ok. I have a 2.3m long trailer and it copes very well with sawing up enough 200-250mm diameter logs to fill the trailer. I have taken it apart to clean it and to fit new chains and I am impressed with the overall quality of construction and materials. The only small niggle is the safety function whereby it turns off after a very short while. It would be nice if the timer could be adjusted. I would strongly recommend as a useful tool for a large wooded garden. It’s a easy decision if you have already invested in the Makita 18v system.

Where safety glasses
Brilliant bit of kit, works perfectly well with all my batteries genuine and a few makes of non genuine batteries, make sure you order a couple of spare chains, I felled a 40 foot cherry and cut it up into log size pieces, 3 sharp chains in total was perfect.

duc 355z

Great tool
This is nice, lightweight saw. The only drawback but since the charge time is really quick it allows for clean up of the area between cuts

Recomendable!!!
Muy buena maquina, similar a una de gasolina, el único problema es la duración de las baterías.
