TubShroom Ultra Revolutionary Bath Tub Drain Protector Hair Catcher/Strainer/Snare Stainless Steel, Single Pack

I am not sure why so many people are complaining in reviews that it is so gross to clean it and it clogs after just a few showers and stuff. That is what it is supposed to do - catch all your hair and stuff from going into your drain and clogging it. It does the job! I think it is easy to clean - dry or even still wet after a shower. It catches my hair. It is my hair after all - so I don't think it is gross. Not sure why it freaks others out so much... I do prefer to clean it just after a shower though - that way I can also give it a good rinse for any other junk it caught - like body and hair care product build up. Plus I don't wash my hair every day and I only have to clean it when I do wash my hair - otherwise the water flows down the drain just fine. The only con I have is that my drain is actually copper. So the Tub Shroom looks nice and matches my faucets in chrome - but stands out a lot on the actual drain. I wish they made a worn copper colored one that would actually blend. I say "worn copper" colored as when I initially removed the drain plate to install this and saw it was a copper pipe that was almost black - I scrubbed and scoured it with lots of elbow grease and got it back to a somewhat shiny copper color. But that quickly faded right after a few showers - with the water and the body and hair care products...and I gave up all hope on the drain itself looking good color-wise. A worn copper colored Tub Shroom would be PERFECT! PLUS - to open it EASILY - first peel the label sticker back a bit on the package near the Shroom itself. Then you will see that the plastic clamshell is actually split already (with a back and front) and the sticker is pretty much holding it closed. Just cut a little and it pops right out. Easy Peasy.

Two years ago we tried the original version TubShroom and it was too flexible and hard to fit and remove from our tub drain and ended up not using it. However, this past spring we had an expensive plumber visit due to a stubborn hair clog way past the elbow drain. We tried some other hair catcher solutions which were better than the existing tub drain grate cover by itself but not great. We gave the TubShroom Ultra a try and it's a way better design. The stainless steel solid piece combined with the flexible fitting adapters works perfectly. Easy to insert, easy to remove and clean. And the amount of fine hairs that it catches that other drain hair strainers miss is amazing to see. Get the Ultra version!

This drain protector is amazing! I never knew how much dog hair was going down the drain! After a serious plumbing issue I knew I needed something to help the pipes of my old house and I have not been disappointed with this product. It has several rubber washers so it is easy to find the right size for the tub. You simply put the washer on, press the plug into the drain opening, and suddenly your bathtub pipes love you again. Very easy to remove, clean of the accumulated hair, and reinsert. I wish I had bought this years ago.

I 've own a two family house and have been growing tired of clearing hair out of the pipes in my apartment and my tenant's appartment. Looking for the perfect hair-catcher, we bought 4 different strainers, a big plastic strainer, a micro-hole chrome strainer that looks like a miniature version of your kitchen sink strainer, a wire-mesh strainer that looked like a tea strainer without a handle, and the TubShroom strainer. We are using it in a tube with a manual-pop-up drain, with a chrome flange, but no built-in screen. Before telling you the outcome, I need to advise that a regular tub screen has a a plain brass drain underneath, so you might not like the look of your drain after you remove the screen. My tube's drain has a chrome-plated flange with a manual pup-up plug that you tap with your toe to open and close. It has no built-in screen to cover the drain, which is why the drain has a chrome flange. We tried each strainer and here are the results. The big plastic strainer caught some of the big hairs, but let a lot of hair slip underneath. It did not catch any small hairs. It was the worse of the four. The micro-hole chrome strainer was an outstanding hair catcher and super easy to clean. Just wipe your finger once across and you have the complete pile of long and short hair that it stopped. However, it had terrible water flow and it seemed to be sized better for sinks than for bath tubs. For every minute of showering, I needed an additional minute to drain the tube after I finished. The wire-mesh strainer had the best hair catching and would even catch lint and dead skin. It had excellent water flow and and it was easily the most affordable. My local store carries them for just $2 and amazon for not much more. I would be singing praises for this simple solution, but it has a problem. It is very difficult to properly clean. After you pulled out the hairs, you also have to scrape out the lint and dead skin that clogged up the mesh. If you just pulled out the air and don't scrape out the mesh, in just one or two days, the mesh is complete clogged up with lint, skin and soap, blocking the water flow almost as good as a rubber plug. If your are on a budget and don't mind the extra scraping work every two days (and maybe less often if you live alone), then the mesh strainer is an affordable, reliable solution. The TubShroom was the best looking of the four, especially the chrome TubShroom. It was easy to clean, had good water flow and reliably caught long hairs. It lets some short hairs slip by and certainly won't catch lint and skin, but it serves it's purpose of catching long hairs quite well. We also bought a TubShroom for our tenant. She also found it did a much better job of catching hair than the original metal screen that covered her tub's drain. So it would look nice, we also replaced the tub's plain brass drain (which was previously covered by the tub's original metal screen) with drain like ours where the circular flange is chrome plated.

Lots of research brought me to this product. It works so well!!! Excellent price and does a great job!

Absolutely love this. Works so well stopping hair etc going down the bathtub drain. Very easy to use and stays in place with the water flowing easily.

Smart liten pryl. Jag har en pop up-propp i badkaret med en central pigg som man skruvar fast proppen på, vilket gör att de flesta hårfällor inte passar. Med den här skruvar jag bort proppen och sätter i den här, som passar över piggen. Eller den passade faktiskt inte för piggen var inte rund nedanför gängorna men tryckte till den med en tång så öppningen blev mer oval och sedan passade den.

We’ve been using store bought drain catchers for years and I always have to snake out the drain still once every two months. (My wife and I both have long hair.) With this it’s a game changer! We’ve had it for 8 months now and haven’t had to use a drain snake at all! It does such a good job at catching the hair, looks clean, easy to empty and clean, fits perfect in our tub. Definitely recommend this product and would buy again, but I foresee this product lasting a long time!

Excelente, para o que se propoe. coube certinho na hidro. vem com borrachas adicionais para adaptar. necessita retirar com frequencia para limpeza pois acumula os fios de cabelo. A borracha de vedação se solta com frequencia ao colocar e retirar do ralo o protetor.
