Portwest US440 Classic Waterproof Packable Rain Jacket

The quality of this rain jacket is outstanding! The fabric looks and feels very nice. The fabric is also fairly quiet (some rain jackets are so loud). The stitching is all perfect. All seams are taped. Overall quality looks and feels high end. It sheds rain and wind like you're cloaked in an impenetrable forcefield. And if that's not enough, the fit is very flattering too! I bought an XL because not only do I tend to wear bulky sweaters when it's cold, but I am cursed with freakishly long arms for a 5'8" woman. The XL is oversized for me but that's what I was going for so it fits as expected. I'm super happy! One thing I'd say is a "con" but to me, it's not a deal breaker because I wasn't looking for an ultralight jacket: It weighs 1.5 pounds (Size XL). That's pretty heavy for a rain jacket. You trade weight for low price and excellent waterproofness. If low weight and high waterproofness are both mportant to you, get an Arc'teryx or a Patagonia rain jacket. Overall, a amazing value ($14 on sale !!!), does the job, looks great, arms are actually long enough, waterproof. Happy!

Nice rain jacket! Sturdy and heavyweight ,meaning good tuff jacket with some weight to it too as well! Got mines just in time for a rain storm we had and needed it for work! Packable hood has a string with adjusters to wrap around your head in place. The bottom as well and also elastic wrists with overhead cuffs. Im a big guy and based on another review on this product i read, i got a size 6xl and it fits perfectly and spacious. Im 6 ft . 320 lbs. Definitely recommend this rain jacket,5 stars for sure!

A great cheep rain coat

The quality seems to be as good as my last one, but I've had it for a number of years and it seems not to be as waterproof as it was so I bought this one and reasonably sure it'll hold up for a few years too. I have the pants that I believe match that color as close as I can and they will hold up well my first pair I bought to go with the previous jacket even they are still in good condition. Unfortunately, I bought the black pants and obviously they don't stand out very well. I will buy again if I need to, but I hope not for sometime yet.

Rain jacket came in handy and covers body well

I haven't worn this in the rain yet, so I'll have to reserve judgement on that. But I'm very pleased with the material and construction. The material is lightweight but by no means flimsy. It's not tissue thin and it won't tear under normal use. The zipper zips easily and the two outside pockets are deep and well protected from moisture. The seams are fully taped and done so well that you have to scrutinize the jacket to see them at all. The cuffs are tight elastic and no water will get in there. The vents under the arms are small but probably adequate and the back vent is big and will probably let any moisture escape. I haven't tried the hood. This jacket is designed big so you can wear a sweatshirt or sweater under it. There is more room in the stomach and chest than you will need. I bought this to have handy on a trip I'm going to take to Alaska next week, and I wanted something that wouldn't take up much room in my suitcase. I chose the bright orange color so my wife could locate me if we got separated. I would recommend this to anyone. It's a good buy.

Good fit

Omg i just got this for my Alaskan cruise and it is The Best!! It repelled water (a light rain) , kept me warm! I’m hoping it will last the rest of my life lol and I’ve told a few people to buy it. A lucky find! I got a large it’s perfect and i love all the pockets, the hood and the cinch waist. Buy it! No negatives here !
