The Blacksmith's Project Book: Intermediate & Advanced Projects from European Masters Hardcover – January 11, 2018

I’m very pleased with my purchase. This is an amazing book!I ordered a copy of this book after I read a review. The review didn’t mention the artist blacksmiths whose projects are featured so I was happily surprised to see that the first project is by Zeevil Gottlieb, whose work I really like and who I saw at a demonstration last year in Georgia. I’ve read through most of the chapters and especially like the sculpture projects but the damascened fish and mokume gane ones are very interesting for me too. There’s also an essay at the end of the book on restoring antique wrought iron. I couldn’t agree more with the person who wrote it. The whole book is written very clearly and the photos are top notch. I am definitely going to try many of these. Highly recommended!

I met the author on my way out of Tuscany during a forging tournament. I only had about 75 euros to my name after purchasing another of his books so I couldn't get it. He was a pleasure to talk with and a vowed to buy this one as soon as I could (thinking it would be in two years when I returned). Surprised to see it on Amazon at only 50$ I bought it immediately upon return and wow, What a steal! This book includes some of the best metal artists in the world and details the process of a project from each. If I only had 3 books on the craft, this would be one of them.

I got this book for my husband who has been blacksmithing for several years. The "Intermediate & Advanced Projects" caught my eye in the title as I wanted to get him something that was more than just beginner level skills which he already has. The book has lots of great photos and descriptions of multiple projects including really difficult looking pieces such as faces and hands. He really likes it and is excited to get started on some of the projects in the book.

I have been dealing with "Artisian Ideas "for quite some time. The company has a great inventory of unique titles and I have NEVER been disappointed with their products or their coustomer service. I am a hobbiest blacksmith and heard about this book from one of my friends. I am VERY happy with the purchase and quite pleased to see that "Artisan Ideas" actually published the book. A very sturdy binding with good paper stock ,that really makes the photos pop, are consistant with "Artisian Ideas " quality service. While this book might not be appropriate for an extreme novice blacksmith, the techniques utilized in the book are necessary in blacksmithing. Great book , well worth the investment. I can't wait to see what else they publish
