Dean Martin: Live From Las Vegas

I purchased this CD because I couldn't find another recording of, "Mr. Wonderful" by Dean. He sings this song with a bit of humour and a LOT of strength and it really is great.In addition to that great rendition, though, this is a CD of Dean Martin having a good time. Imagine it - the King of Cool caught in a recording where he is "just" having a good time/performance. It doesn't get any better than that. - I first listened to this CD in the Winter/Spring of 2008...FORTY years after it was recorded... and the jokes are still fresh (in more ways than one). - Oh...did I mention the guy also sings a little here and there?As previously indicated, this is not an award-winning CD. It is, though, a great CD where an award-winning performer is doing what he did best - performing.Spending some of your hard-earned money in order to spend some time with this guy really is a good investment. The energy you get from the laughs alone is easily worth the purchase price.

The live show was more revealing than the booklet that came with it. The booklet didn't make any sense to me only contradictory statements. I was hoping the booklet would provide more details like why it was put together (meaning the show). How Eartha Kitt and people like Diahann Carroll and Barbara Luna came to his show. Were they invited or just heard he was performing and thought they wanted to stop by? Towards the end of the show someone says, 'Where's Jeanne?' after Jeanne was mentioned at the beginning of the show to be there. It seemed she left. Did she really leave or was that just a part of the show? Although his show was great, the booklet did not provide details on the show, just random crap that people already know about Dean Martin.

Classic Dean Martin performance, and old time Las Vegas. People forget how gifted this man was when it came to comedy, and song. His timing is perfect, even though he plays a drunken buffoon. Wish there was a modern day Rat Pack in Las Vegas, so there would be some class, and style.

If you don't have this cd in your collection, you need to purchase it! Typical Dino in his Vegas routine. Unrehearsed and the jokes just flow. One of the best CDs I've ever heard from the King of Cool.

Only for serious Dean Martn fans, not a lot of singing, but a lot of very amusing banter. Very amusing indeed.

Dean's humor and talent shine through. I have really enjoyed the CD, and listen to it often. Would recommend to other Dean fans

I have a live recording of Dean at Lake Tahoe- it's a better CD. This one has the same jokes and dialog and less songs.
