The good: Compared to other fireplace gates I've seen with cheap plastic hinges this one is all metal. Comes with wall mounting screws and drywall anchors. Quick, self explanatory set-up.The bad: Only designed for square set up with supplied corner angle pieces. I decided against drilling into my mantle and mounted on the drywall beside it. I had to drill 2 new holes for the corner angle piece.

This is exactly what we needed to keep the dogs from touching the woodstove. We did use the front corner supports but did not attach it to our brick hearth. It is sturdy and stays put. We do not use the door as we can easily reach over it, but it is tall enough to keep large dogs from reaching the stove. Very functional and well made.

Arrived promptly, well packaged. Very sturdy and substantial product! Fit perfectly around propane stove to keep my small pets away from hot components. Very secure when positioned around the stove but also came with wall anchors, advisable for use around children or large pets. I definitely recommend this for freestanding stoves. It does not take the place of screening around the glass of a heating stove.

I am very pleased with this fire screen. it protects all of the family and so I can relax without fear of dogs / grandchildren / and clumsy me stumbling into what is a very hot fire. Little arms cannot reach through and touch the fire at all, but the double lock gate allows us to open up and stoke up the fire when necessary. It came complete with wall fixings to make sure that the guard stays where you put it which is so important. Fixings were also easy to fit and give the screen real strength.Last but not least the screen is also very attractive and would fit most decors.

Smart tidy perfect fire guard purchased as we have a grandchild now. On reviews people complained that the locks were not secure enough. I thought I could use a little combination padlock if needed. However there is one slip lock on the front of the door and another on the inside top of the door. very pleased with my purchase and great to have the door at the front to access the wood burner

Such a shame, had high hopes for this guard. Yes it is well made BUT it is a guard, safety is the reason behind it, and I am sure for most safety for children. The gate catch is ridiculous, when the rest is well made, simply held on by nut and bolt, no locking washer so every time you move it, it undoes, and before you know it nut falls off and you then play hunt the nut.But worst of all my 18month old can open it, there is no safety at all from that perspective. Such a shame so if buying with children in mind move on this isnt the guard for you.

This item arrived in double quick time. I will definitely use this seller again . The stove screen is excellent, stylish and practical. Looks perfectly in keeping in my Victorian house. Very satisfied. It is more of a deterrent than a full blown child guard. It would not be sensible to leave a young child alone as inquisitive fingers could go through the bars but the guard sits sufficiently forward to prevent a child from actually touching the stove. This item has been purchased for protection of little granddaughter. It look so good that It can remain in situ.

A really good solid and sturdy fire guard, with two catches on the gate for added safety, just the job.

This was cheap and broken, the srews were all loose in the box. It did not have the right fixings to attach to the wall.. We had to pay the postage to send it back. Do not buy! Poor quality item and uncooperative seller!!

A really strong ans safe child proof fire guard BUT for the flimsy and useless gate catch. We have had to wire the gate up to keep it safe!
