Really tight fit but so nice when it’s done!
I was in need to replace my old tires. They kept slipping. I chose these and at first I wanted to give up. That’s until I asked some fellow enthusiast and they gave me some tipsTo get it on. Basically use zip ties to secure whatever u can. Then stretch a little more and add another zip tie. Then work from the other zip tie and get it all on top. U may need a second person to pull the zip tie. I didn’t soak it I just chose man handle method once the zip ties are on. Some say to soak for water just under boiling for 5 minutes but I didn’t want to get scolded. Overall right after install i sawed someWood and the blade didn’t come off.

Brought My Old Bandsaw Back to Life
I have an 50's era Craftsman band saw that kept throwing the blade. I replaced the old drive tires with these, and haven't had a problem since. Follow the installation instructions, and these go on without too much of a fight.

Installation hints
I read the other reviews regarding this product and they are accurate. The band saw does run quieter. Sears does charge twice the amount. They are very difficult to put on. As to the last point. I used hot water from the tap that helped. The second tire, after experience with the first was easier. I am sure the third would be even easier, but my saw does not have three wheels :) Experience helps. With the first I used one clamp, then after watching you tube tried several more clamps. Eventually I put the tire and the wheel in a wood vise, the wheel was clamped on the side and the tire moved freely, and pulled up, that solved the problem of the tire wanting to slip off the wheel on the side I are previously pulling from. The second tire was more difficult because I could not remove the wheel from the saw, I did find an easier solution. I place three 1"-2" clamps at the 12, 3, 9 o-clock position (the clock is not important just the spacing). I tighten the clamps on the edge of the wheel, without the tire, then I stretched the tire around the wheel. The purpose of the clamps was to keep the tire from slipping off as I used a flat head screw driver to make the final stretch. One additional comment. The Woodworking magazine video suggested using urethane tires in arid climates instead of rubber tires that dry out faster. That answers the urethane vs rubber question.

Easy install, use mfg instructions / video
Great quality and does run quieter. There are many "hints" and procedures about tire installation but I preferred the video and instructions by the manufacturer found at sgtool.com then picking urethane tires. I did not have to heat them or prestretch and went on easy by simply rotating the tire; no zip ties or clamps used; only hands. I made a simple jig from a 2/2, a couple dowels and a short pipe over 1 dowel; I rolled both tires on easy. After installation, center the tire on the wheel by working with it. You do have to remove the wheels which was simple and wheel and structure needed cleaning anyway. Also, clean the wheel using alcohol and narrow strip of nylon abrasive. I had replaced tires with rubber last time but these are much better. I did have to completely readjust all my roller bearing guides and top wheel tilt since the blade ran in the center now; this took longer than installing the tires.

Helped bring an old saw back to life
I inherited an old Craftsman bandsaw with blades that wouldn't track because the bands didn't stay in one place. I purchased these and installed them by myself in a little over an hour. They make a huge difference. No more rattle, the blade tracks perfect, the bands stay in place and the saw works great (with a new blade and some TLC of course).I followed the directions on the back of the included card. The install wasn't easy, but this is a pressure fit item that holds a spinning sharp blade so I didn't want to compromise the bands. The lower wheel was the most difficult. The trick is to have a tongue depressor or something similar to help force the band on the wheel while using clamps, string, or zip ties to save your progress.I will definitely buy these again if I ever get a different saw (because I don't see myself wearing these out).

Do Not Attempt Alone; 2 People
These belts fit my hubs 12 Craftsman Band saw/Sander. So far they are pefect.. Here is some advice/fyi; 1) Plug your kitchen sink a d run nothing but hot water as hot as it will got. Add Dawn Dish Soap. If you have Platinum or Dawn that is scented put lots of soap in the sink filling up. 2) Put the tires in the water, grab a wooden spoon and stir it about for about 10 min. 3) Pull a tire out with the spoon. If the tire still is not flexible, return to sink check every few min; ours took about 25 min to reach flexable. 4) Once flexible remove from water. Do not drain yet. 5) Use the soap water bubbles and coat the tires with the soap bubbles, only needs to be on the inside. 6) GET BACKUP this seriously takes 2 people, and a large flat head screw driver. 7) Pick a starting point wheel your helper will hold the tire at each pully in place, use the screw driver to go between the pully and tire keep the tip down on the pully while pulling up on the handle. Your helper might have to help at this point because of the tightness. These tires spin very nicely and once I returned the other ones and ordered the correct ones the Band saw runs great.. Thank upu

Fits Craftsman 351.224000.
Seems to be a great product but I just put them on and cannot testify to the longevity. I have a Craftsman 12 inch band saw model 351.224000. Actual outside wheel rim diameter approx 12.25 inches. Replaced both top and bottom tires. Set these new tires out in the summer sun for about 5 minutes, gave them a mild stretch with my hands and had both of them on the wheels in about 10 minutes. Used rubber tipped spring clamps to hold around the rim and one flathead screwdriver to do the very last stretch to get them on. I did not remove the wheels from the saw. Runs smooth. They seem to be a nice tight fit. At this point I would buy again though I hope they last so long that I won’t have to.

Can easily be cut and rejoined
Good product which was slightly too big a diameter for my needs but easy fix cut and weld back together. Works fine.
