Just received the ebl charger and 16 aa nimh batteries. are the new batteries charged up or do i have to charge then before i use them? john j

I'd put them through one full charge cycle before using. Could take many hours to charge, but once they are you will know they're charged.

How long would these batteries last in a deer camera?

It says they come already charged, but when I took them out of the box and stuck them in the charger, the light was red. So I charged them OVERNIGHT and then put them in my game camera. As soon as I installed them, the battery life indicator showed they had only about 2/3 life left. They lasted less than 3 days. I read somewhere that the more you drain and charge them, the battery life improves. I hope that's the case.
