Pull a small Velcro seam apart at the bottom to accommodate the tripod and away you go. I’ve had no problems at all in light rain. Admittedly I got a little concerned this past weekend when the sky absolutely opened up but my gear stayed bone dry and the cover didn’t slip off the lens hood - stayed firmly in place. I love this cover, price, and convenience. I will say if someone doesn’t know their gear well they’ll be fiddling around as there’s no clear port so they can see what they’re doing, but if you do know your gear, it’s a breeze.
