NICE barrier for our 2 labs. After reading one reviewer who simply “engineered” it just a bit better I can say I am now 100% satisfied. Very sturdy and definitely not moving with labs. Now maybe an aggressive horse dog, sure, I’m sure it might not be sturdy enough but I promise this thing is more than durable enough for my needs. I bought a Durango cargo mat prior to install which I do believe adds to said durability. Electrical tape over the vertical rods and the adjustable horizontal ones as well. I also think it looks great too! Makes me feel a lot better from a safety standpoint and also keeps our damn puppy’s nails off my red stitched black leather from trying to climb over the seat. 100% pleased with this and HIGHLY recommend to anyone with dogs. Luna and Boston approve as well so that has to count for something right? Haha

Having captains chairs in my suv I needed a barrier with at least three panels going across. Assembly and installation was fairly easy but once assembled the rattling coming from the barrier while driving was getting to the point after a week or so where I was getting ready to package it up and send it back. Before doing so I took a good look at it and realized the almost all of the rattling was coming from the bottom adjustment threads. The adjustment rod slides into the frame causing the metal on metal rattle. I wrapped electrical tape around the threads that are slid into the frame and now the rattling is just about non-existent. Update on 1/11/15. After a few months I noticed the barrier starting to rattle again. I noticed that one of the tube clamps was snapped in half and had fallen off. I contacted Solv-it customer service to inquire about getting a replacement clamp since gluing it didn't work out and without hesitation they offered to send a replacement part right out. Props to Solv-it for taking care of customers. Barrier is still working out great and is still rattle free.

After trying two different fabric style barriers and them ending up not fitting well or looking nothing like the ad pics, I decided to give this one a go and it works. The assembly video on the ad is spot on perfect and made a big difference in getting it assembled quickly and correctly. The problem I have is I have 2 door Jeep JK and even with the back seat removed has a minimal amount of room in back especially for our 100 lb Lab . To get the most room with this assembled I first braced it from the floor to the black speaker bar housing on the roll bar, however its so smooth no matter how much I cranked on the screw to hold the set up in place, one quick bump and off it went. 2nd try I braced it in the roof. Problem solved. I do recommend this for your pets protection.Good quality and quick assembly.

If our dogs were larger or a bit less determined, I probably would rate this product higher. Our two smart "mutts" kept squeezing through or over the gaps between the horizontal barriers -- they are about the size of cocker spaniels at about 30 lbs. each. They don't like being thrown around in the back of our RAV4 so are very anxious to be in the more stable front seats and our laps. I considered buying a fourth horizontal barrier, but didn't see one made by Solvit so wasn't sure I'd get another brand that would fit. Still this barrier seemed like it should work and, with a little thought, we solved two problems at once. We took an old moving box 24"x18"x18" and cut it into two dog beds -- each is 2' wide which nicely fills up the 4' space between the doors. The sides are cut at an angle so the front is 6" high (easy for the dogs to step into) and the back is 12" high which fills up the excess open space at the bottom of the barrier allowing the 3 horizontal barriers to be closer together. The vertical tension bars are placed inside the beds snug against the 12" backs to hold them in place. Filled with a couple of smaller pet beds and the dogs ride comfortably with the sides of the larger beds keeping them from being thrown around as much. I am a retired woman of a "certain age" who doesn't crawl into the back of the car easily, so assembly took longer than some of reviews indicate -- nor do I expect moving the barrier will be all that easy for me. But we rarely need the rear seats up, so it will be possible and, hopefully, rarely needed. The barrier seems well made for the price. It does adjust to fill the space and is rattle-free when parts are well tightened. If you have a determined dog less than 35 lbs. or so, you might want to look further. But even with the extra work, I feel both we humans and our dogs are safer with the barrier in place.

honestly if you have a big dog it I wouldn’t recommend it thumbs down. My 7 month Belgian Malinois manage to bring it down. I don't know how it hold up for a small dog.

I needed a solution for keeping my two 100lbs dogs safe and separated from the passengers in my 2015 GMC Yukon XL. I decided to remove the 3rd row bench and the storage compartment in the trunk, which is nice for storing small items in it, but creates a slanted cargo area, which makes groceries roll right out of your vehicle once you open the trunk. With the bench removed you get a flat cargo area, which is just a bit uneven due to the bolts from the bench (which I put back in place after removing the bench) and the brackets holding the storage compartment. I put down a piece of 3/4 plywood wrapped in carpet - this results in a 48" wide and 55" long surface, more than enough for two big dogs and it gives you a nice surface to install the pet barrier. Installation is straight forward with clear instructions and is done in 10 to 15 minutes. I took some more time to make sure the uprights of the pet barrier were as straight as possible and I also fixed the bottom feet with some screws to my plywood floor. This way I can be sure that my dogs cannot knock the barrier over or out of place if they slam in it - in case I have to brake hard or they start goofing around in the trunk. Because the gate is installed behind the 2nd row bucket seats I needed to cover the lower space between the bucket seats so the dogs would not try to crawl under the barrier into the passenger compartment. Another piece of plywood wrapped in carpet did the trick and was zip-tied to the bottom of the barrier. That is not a fault of the product, just a challenge of my specific application. With the barrier installed I can fit items up to 4ft length in the trunk, if I need to transport longer items I can easily remove the horizontal bars with the quick release buttons, while letting the uprights installed. With the 2nd row seats folded down I can then fit 8 ft long items. For longer and wider items I abandon the trunk anyways and attach the cargo trailer... ;o) All in all a 5 star item - no complaints whatsoever. Solid made, clear instructions, no tools necessary for installation, easily adjustable in with and height and versatile due to the quick release function of the horizontal bars. I read in an other review the barrier would rattle... not mine, it makes no noise whatsoever - or at least no noise which I could distinguish from the general noise my Yukon makes when I go down a dirt road... ;o)

Its a great system, a little finicky to figure out at first. Only complaint is that it digs into your headliner and can cause damage. Wouldn't use in a nice newer vehicle.

Easy to install! Did it myself. Durable and good material! Works well with keeping my dog away from disrupting my driving.

Se ve que es buen producto pero llegó incompleto, faltaron dos bases circulares que son las que sostienen las barras al techo y piso. Lamentablemente en un descuido rompí una de las piezas así que no podré cambiarlo ni devolverlo. Mala suerte y descuido pero se ve buena calidad del producto.

This pet barrier is just as advertised. High quality, sturdy, intelligent design with features making easy to move in and out of position. Adaptable to most vehicles. Very pleased to recommend this one. Plus a shoutout to the company. Our new box came missing one simple wing nut in the hardware bag. We wrote to the company who responded immediately with apologies and promise to send a replacement. To our surprise an entirely new boxed pet barrier arrived only days later! So talk about customer support to the next level! Cheers
