Hugh Nibley a scholar of science and religion
I bought this book for my son as a Christmas present, but after reading the first chapter I think I'm going to have to get one for myself. Nibley has such vast knowledge on the subject of temples in general that it really expands one's mind on the significance and origins of temple worship, and further shows evidence that temple ordinances have always existed since the fall of Adam. I appreciate the scientific references that Dr. Nibley utilizes to express the origins of the universe, and creation vs. evolution. And for modern day temple attenders, the ideas presented will bring additional meaning and insights to your personal experience.Note: this is not easy reading, but an intellectual study into why civilizations need temples (endowment houses) in these latter days. RIP Hugh Nibley, he demonstrated the only reason science and spirituality seems to conflict with each other is due to a lack of knowledge either from one discipline or the other. He was a great contributor to promoting the establishment of Zion in this dispensation.

Nice quality!
I bought this as a gift but it is a fascinating read and now I want a copy. A little expensive but the quality is there. Hugh Nibley has one-of-a-kind insights and this thoughtful volume sparks the intellect and brings enlightenment that go beyond a quick read. This will serve for years to come.

Food for the mind and soul from one of the greatest men in this dispensation.
I never write a review for anything but this book is an exception. I own the hard copy and the kindle version. It is very intellectual and not for everyone to read. These nuggets of truth can be found nowhere else and I would love to tell you some of them but would rather that you discover it for yourself. Good hunting. Great rewards.

Temple and Cosmos
As is usual for me, my mind is opened more and more as I ponder the truths Professor Nibley teaches in yet another fascinating book. I am overwhelmed by his knowledge and humbled to learn just how ignorant I have been of the things that really matter regarding my life on Earth. Thank you for opening my eyes and exercising my desire to learn more.

done by a master of knowledge
Pretty deep for some -- loved by others. The world needs temples again as in early days of the Bible.

This Book is Amazing
I have learned so much from this book about Temples through out history and about how they relate to us and how much more important they should be to us. I recommend this book to everyone but it is dense so be prepared to have a dictionary near by and to not be able to read it very fast due to how much info is in it.

A real treasure
Though somewhat difficult to read Hugh Nibley's book contains much useful information showing some commonality to world religions by information which was given to Father Adam and has been modified and accepted by almost all religions. His careful analyses are real treasures no matter what his subject.
