Can you paint this on under the water at the bottom of a toilet pan or will it not work?

Kilrock Gel is a specialist descaler that should be used on no more than 5 square centimetres at a time. Do not use as a general cleaner. Brush the gel onto the stained surface Leave for a few minutes Fully rinse away and dry Repeat the process for heavy stains. Once stains have been removed, prevent repeated limescale build-up by regularly cleaning with Kilrock Limescale Remover Spray. Kilrock Gel is a specialist descaler that should be used on no more than 5 square centimetres at a time. Do not use as a general cleaner.

Can I use for the blocked drain?

There are better products to unblock drains but this is a thick, painted on gel that will stay put while it works on limescale. I have painted some inside the upper part of my bathroom sink drain but for a blockage rather than soap scum or limescale build up I would recommend HG liquid drain unblocker.

Can this be poured into a toilet to work on limescale below the water line? Is it as effective?

I would use the liquid to do that not the gel... the gel is better for showers and vertical surfaces... You can also use brick cleaning acid for below the water line scale... but you need to buy greater volumes but it is cheaper...

what is the shelf life of gel Kilrock descaled?

It seems to last a long time but I did notice with my last bottle that it got thinner the longer I had it.
