Is this a clone of the western cutlery knife, w49??

Yes it is. Since Western Knives is out of business and no one is making the W-49 anymore, Lynn Thompson seems to have taken it upon himself to make a good W-49 clone, which I very much appreciate, being a fan of the original design. It's a bit thicker than the original (.188 thick vs. .156-.170 thick), and the handle slabs are screwed in rather than pinned, but the WWB is otherwise identical to the Western Bowie. 'Bout time someone brought this classic design back to market.
