Ok, so I’ve been doing my own nails for a while now... maybe a year or so. I went nuts and got everything when I started, but I used to get builder gel when I would go to the salon, and I thought that was the best thing ever. So, I have been trying to master that. Gel builder is way thinner, more viscous maybe would be the word... but it’s runny, compared to polygel, and so I had a hard time getting the shape I wanted... I would have to build it, and that might take quite a bit of holding my fingers upside down, doing multiple layers, one at a time, and that meant a lot of lamp time, and a lot of filing. Ugh. I bought good products, and was did all the proper prep, but they would still lift and pop off in a week or so. This stuff is much easier to work with, and it doesn’t lift, Or tear at my natural nails when it comes off. It bonds to my natural nails really well, but if I let it grow out, it doesn’t break or lift, it just kind of crumbles at the tips, so I can just touch up as needed, instead of having to start all over. I can shape this much more easily before it sets too, so it saves me a lot of time filing. I wish I would’ve gotten poly gel before I got gel builder, I like this much better all around. I feel like I will have more success with French and boomer nails, and I know I will have better success placing my chunky glitters right where I want them. I’ve only been using this for a month or so, but I’ve only had to do 2 sets so far, and that’s pretty good for me. I’ve had better success with this than I have with acrylic or gel builder. This is kinder to my natural nails as well, in that I don’t have to start completely over everytime with a whole new set like I do with builders and acrylics. This stuff sticks to my nails better than anything I’ve tried. It doesnt have the terrible crack factory smell that the monomer in acrylics have. I can do this with the windows closed. I tried the dual forms, but so far I suck at that. I can see the beauty of it, but I am using a regular form now, with great success. One day I will try the dual form again. Poly gel is my new fave. I’m excited to play with this more, I know this will cut my nail maintenance time by a lot. I will be buying more of this, thanks for the great product!

In April if 2020, a legion of humans said “where am I supposed to get an acrylic fill during COVID?” Thank goodness we live in a time of PolyGel. I am an average Full time working mom with 2 kids - no nail experience - but addicted to acrylic nails. I am writing to confirm that this kit is totally AWESOME and makes acrylic possible at home. A few important field notes from the front lines: this product performs exactly as described. You can search internet for reviews and how-to’s. Read carefully the other things you need (which are standard anyway for those looking to do nails at home): (1) electric nail file: i really think that hand files are prob OK if everything goes perfectly, if something needs to be redone, an electric nail file will save you A LOT of time - I recommend the Melody Susie drill its quiet and has variable speed 2-direction motor with standard bit size (2) Nail dust vacuum for dust - don’t skimp on this - that dust gets everywhere (3) UV light (4) slip solution - I like Gelish but any brand will do. DO NOT SKIP THE SLIP (5) —-> nail surface cleaner <—- don’t ignore this one. The PolyGel is very sticky and acetone or soap and water don’t really work To remove the sticky tacky. It’s an easy step (you prob have always wondered what your manicurist is swiping at the end to make the surface glossy and clean? Don’t ignore her wisdom) (6) nail bond - I really like the Young Nails (YN) protein nail bond but it’s pricy and small quantity. Might not be in everyone’s budget. (8) ceramic cup or shot glass for slip solution.

I have tried a few other brands of polygel from amazon. This one is by far my favorite! The colors are beautiful and have the amount of opacity that I was looking for. I love a nude pink. And with the other brands I’ve used, I would have to paint them to get the color. They were just too clear for me. Not these! I just added a top coat. Perfect! These polygels are SUPER easy to work with. They are not too sticky and are easy to squeeze out of the tube. Another huge plus. Especially if you are a beginner. You will need a slip solution (not provided - I used 91% icopropyl without any issues) and your own lamp to cure the product. My lamp from Walmart worked just fine. I had zero issues with it curing. The top coat is a no wipe which I love! It’s a thick top coat and cures very shiny. Love it! Now onto the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. First was the dual forms. I have wide nails, and I found that none of the dual forms for any of my nails very well. I ended up having to go in and fill the sides on every finger. (Which was so easy since the formula of these gels is so easy to work with) It would be nice to have some more sizes provided in the kit. Not a deal breaker, but something to be aware of if you have larger nail beds. Secondly, I provided a pic of my nails with and without a flash. There are tons of super tiny bubbles visible in the flash picture that I haven’t experienced with other polygels. Not sure if this was user error, but since I’ve never had this issue with others, I’m assuming it’s the product. Again, not a deal breaker. In natural light they are not really visible as you can see in the non flash pic. And I’ve only used on color so far, so not sure if it’s all colors that do this, or just the natural pink. That’s it! I’ve had these on a few days now and haven’t had any pop off. All in all, I would definitely recommend this product and will be re ordering when I run out. The colors are beautiful, opaque, and so so easy to work with. If you are a beginner, order this kit! You will not be disappointed. To be clear... you will need to have your own slip solution and led lamp. This product doesn’t come with either, and both are needed for this to work for you! Product will not cure without it.

Disclaimer: I am not a professional nor have I had any type of training or practice with doing nails. This set is such a great deal for the price. It comes with everything you need (aside from a liquid to dip your brush in so that the polygel doesn’t stick to your brush- I just use rubbing alcohol, works great and it’s cheap) I love the colors this set comes with and the tubes are pretty big so they’ll last you a while. For the set I did in the last picture (holding a Disney compact), I used “cover pink”, “white”, and “clear”. For the clear tip design, I laid a thin layer of clear, added the holographic pieces, cured it, then another thicker layer of clear. Keep in mind to always wipe with alcohol between layers because sometimes dust can get on a layer and u won’t see it till the end (As you can see my ring finger clear cap isn’t as clear as the index finger because dust was between the 2 layers). This polygel is super easy to file down and shape. I used glue on nail tips I purchased here on amazon and just laid the polygel on top. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stop spending money at the salon.

I have never done anything but 'press-on' nails until now. I did some homework after seeing a polygel nail product advertised on Facebook. I watched a few YouTube videos (shoutout to Long Hair Pretty Nails) and was sold specifically on trying the Gershion kit. I ordered a UV nail dryer and the kit which both arrived on the same day, thank you Amazon. The instruction sheet included in the kit could be a lot more informative than it is - seriously, watch videos on YouTube. It took me hours to put on my first set. That being said, I Love Love Love the finished look, and honestly, it was a lot of fun doing it (some might disagree). The colors are a lot of fun. The first I did were the Natural Pink and I still think that is my favorite color. Then I used the Red Bean color. These were super-cool, and the translucent salmon red color was amazing. Then I experimented with doing a "French manicure" look using Cover Pink on the nail base and the White on the tips. This went better than expected, but required me to purchase some disposable foil nail forms (which I recommend getting once you burnout on the fun that is the included nail forms and you are ready for using multiple colors of polygel on the same nail). FYI - you can use good old fashioned nail polish in these nails AnD you can use a gel topcoat over the regular nailpolish! (Who knew?) The only things I find "wrong" (annoying, mildly problematic) is that if you do a lot of cleaning you really need to wear gloves to prevent &/or delay the gel from lifting off the base of the nail (also, if you are a fisherperson, Powerbait is hella hard on polygel and after a few days of fishing you will see lifting, but hell, if you can still tie fishing knots with long nails you rock!). The hardest thing is removal. Honestly, save yourself loads of stress - buy a nail "drill's" (aka. E-file) now. I am perfectly happy with the one I got for well under $20 here on Amazon by Melodysusie. When using these, stay on low speed. And buy some pure acetone. (When you go to remove the excess polygel, After clipping (buy a pair of tip clippers this will save you a lot of filing time) and filing as much of the polygel as possible, put a couple of ounces of acetone in a quart ziploc bag, fill a saucepan about 3/4s full of hot tap water, put your hand in the ziploc and put the bag and your hand in the water for 5 minutes then gently scrape the polygel off with a metal cuticle pusher or a similar tool - again, this will save you a lot of time and stress. Always be gentle on your natural nails, these processes will make them thin and weak, so be careful. All that said, this is a fantastic product. If you want nice long manicured nails and cannot afford to go to a salon twice a month, this is definitely a good option, economically. I have a job wherein people are watching my hands constantly, so having nice hands and nails is important to me. Overall, expect some work to be involved, but if you love the look of long pretty nails, and are willing to take the time, this is a fantastic product.

This was my first time using polygel, I usually use acrylic. I did enjoy using it however there were a few things I noticed from the colors I did use which were clear, Natural pink and white. The natural pink worked very well and was easy to work with, no problems there. The White was very hard to squeeze out the tube and was hard to work with. The White was sticking together and would clump up. the clear was very hard to work with and hard a hair gel like consistency. The word I’m trying to find for it is more so like flaky? Like the gel was thinning out and was clumping together and I couldn’t mold it to build my apex or spread it over the nails correctly. I would sometimes have to go over it twice with two layers of clear because the first layer was so patchy. I wish the formulas were more consistent. Other than that they were fine and the nails turned out great. The top coat turned my index finger into a yellow hue and I had to use my own top coat for the remainder of the nails so they wouldn’t turn yellow. Overall not the worst experience but not the best experience with this polygel for my first time.

Update: I still love this product, it’s so easy to work with. The one negative I have found is that the white never hardens for me, making it hard to do a pink and white. If it did set up correctly I could easily do a pink and white because the product is otherwise super easy to work with. Its long lasting too, I’ve been filling mine usually once a week, just because I haven’t quite perfected doing the area around my cuticles yet so it’s not growing out as smoothly as I’d wish, but fills are a breeze. I’ve enjoyed working with it so much I bought some little practice fingers and forms so I could practice other methods. The gel works just as well with forms. So I’m a rank beginner, last time I tried to do my own nails was over 20 years ago and didn’t end well. So these are my beginner thoughts. This product came beautifully packaged with everything intact. There is a fair amount of every color. Ease of use, I thought it was easy, even though it probably took me 2 1/2 hours and my nails weren’t as perfect as I would have liked. I chalk this up to being a beginner, the last few nails were much nearer perfection than the first few. I was a little worried that they would all pop off, but this is day 5 and all are still secure. I’m not sure how to do a fill, and I’ll need one soon, because I got my product a little thick near the cuticle, but I’m really looking forward to working with my kit again.

I have been to I-don't-even-know how many nail salons over the years to get gel manicures, acrylics, and most recently dip power nails. I like them long, and I like them with art and bling. For some reason, long and bling isn't a thing where I live, and all the salons here are starting to move away from doing acrylic extensions. Everyone is on the dip powder bandwagon (so they can charge more and work less, but that's another rant for another day). I started doing my own gel nail polish about 2-3 years ago after a nail tech I went to ground my natural nail down so thin it was almost to the skin, then another tech jammed an orangewood stick under another nail - this was at literally the highest 5 star bougie salon we have. Anyway, I started doing my own gel polish nails and got fairly good at bling and basic decal nail art, but they were always on the short side - no extensions. I've tried doing my own acrylics and it was a mess. I recently went to a brand new salon for extensions and after 3 visits, they AGAIN drilled my natural nails down to paper thin painful nubs even after I told the tech NOT to use the drill on my natural nails. She insisted and I'm not going back. This kit popped up on my Amazon feed for a black Friday thing and I was like, what the heck is poly gel? So I went to You Tube, watched 1 video (Long Hair Pretty Nails Show shout out!) and bought this kit. I. Am. In. LOVE. I already have a UV light ($40, Amazon) and have an e-drill ($18, Amazon), plus I also already have PH Bond ($8, Amazon), none of which comes in this particular kit (but there are more complete kits from this same seller), so I already had a leg up, but all you really need that this doesn't have is a light, PH bond, and some rubbing alcohol ($2, Walgreens). I highly recommend you watch some videos on You Tube (I really like Long Hair Pretty Nails Show and Naio Nails - both have lots of tutorials and ideas), and you too can have extension nails! My 1st picture has lots of bling and was seriously my 1st time using poly gel, and I used sculpting forms! I initially made them as long as the forms went in a stiletto shape just to see if I could do it and it was SO easy! Any globs can easily be fixed with a hand file. So yeah, when I first cured them, they don't look great, but they file super easy and buff smooth. They also are super strong. I had 3" long nails for like 30 minutes then filed them down to a more reasonable but long shape. I started to do a fill but decided on a completely different look using white tips instead of all pink so I snipped the tips, filed down the pink gel, put on forms and sculpted out a new set. I am hooked. Great product, has almost everything you need, and I love the results. I also really love the top coat, it's no-wipe and cures like glass.

Save me so much money, easy to do it, nice colours all quite to natural tones

Horrible quality. No easy to apply. Base coat goes all over the nail and the colors dont stay on the nail. After one day they are already coming off. Only thing that has abit more of quality in the whole set is the brush
