Connection instructions not clear
After spending a good 30 minutes trying to connect the chatpad to the Xbox-One and reading the 1 star reviews, I almost sent it back. I'm not sure if my self (along side the one star reviews), are just ignorant or the directions are unclear. However if your having trouble connecting this is the solution.1. Turn on the Xbox-One and connect the chatpad to the controller. (leave the USB thingy disconnected in hand)2. Press the connect button on the bottom of the chatpad connected to the controller. While the blue light is lit upon the chatpad plug in the USB thingy to the back of the xbox one. The blue light will shut off and you will be connected.Again not sure if directions were unclear or I just can't follow directions, however I guarantee this was the problem of the 1star reviews.Giving three stars for the unneeded use of brain power.

Great Chatpad! ^_^
Fantastic accessory for the Xbox One! It makes writing messages, leaving comments on Twitch and YouTube, and searching on Netflix and Hulu Plus much easier. It does make the controller that much bulkier by design and does not have a port to support a wired Headset...and unlike the official chatpad on 360, the keys don't light up to make it easier to message at night BUT overall, i am very pleased with this chatpad and would recommend it since Microsoft seems to be taking their sweet time coming out with a 1st party one.

It works fine but after removing it so I could use a mic the mic no longer works in the port. Mic worked before I got this but the keypad seems to have damaged the port so I had to get a new controller so I could talk to people.

Seemed like a good idea
Seemed like a good idea. Poorly executed. You need the extra Bluetooth receiver plugged into the Xbox 1. The keyboard then has no integration with the standard xb1 headset. The up side is that I plugged the keyboard into another xb1 controller and just use that to type. Annoying but effective. In hind sight I would not have purchased. If you are a kinect user it may not be an issue. But if you have the headset that came with the system that plugs into the bottom of the controller keep in mind you lose that port. Buttons take some getting used to. I prefer the plastic ones from the 360 Microsoft chatpad. The rubber ones don't always register and I'm still getting used to spacing. Most of the time I just skip using it.

Do not buy this! This is a piece of crap. Half the time the buttons won't work and the other half they have a three seconds delay, needless to say this product was faster, more reliable, and plain old much better in the trash.
