I believe this is the same iron that my hair stylist used on my hair and was pleasantly surprised to see it for an affordable amount, unlike at the salon (I think it was selling for $180 there). The iron heats up quickly and I haven't had any issues with it yet, unlike some of the other users. The dial allows you to select the proper temperature to use for your hair type, which is convenient. It seems that allowing my hair to dry fully and then running it through the iron allows it to straighten without having the frizzy ends. So unlike some users that have used this product on wet hair, I get better results after drying my hair. I haven't plugged and unplugged the iron often and they send instructions to keep it plugged in if possible, using the on/off switch instead of fulling disconnecting from the plug to turn it off. I'm not sure if this is due to issues they've had with the plug/cord or for our convenience, although the latter doesn't seem likely; as you are instructed to unplug most electrical appliances that are used in the restroom, when not in use. The decision maker for me was that it was a decently priced model for a ceramic flat iron. I've read other flat iron complaints from melting ceramic plates, cords with shorts, to the ceramic plate falling off entirely from the iron. I figured that if I'm going to dish out $$$ for a flat iron, might as well get a good ceramic iron for a decent price considering all the different problems that can occur with them.

I bought this straightener in 2011. It’s still going strong. I thought for a minute that it was on its last legs and I came to get a new one because it’s lasted so long. I had really long hair before and now I have short hair, but it’s worked great for both. Heats up quite quickly, works just ok from wet to dry (watch the steam, though!), but works great on dry hair. You can adjust the temperature, but I pretty much just set it and left it.

Over the last several years, I always stuck w/ a cheaper flat iron, prob in the $25-$35 price bracket. I constantly would try different hair products, thinking that was the issue. My hair is naturally curly, and gets very big in humidity especially. After the last trip to the salon, the hair dresser used her very fancy, expensive flat iron on my hair...and what a difference!!!! Her's was super expensive, so there was not way I could afford it. But she did say that investing in a good flat iron was worth it. She said the cheaper flat irons do get very hot, but do not give off the right kind of heat, which results in damage, and less than stellar results. So w/ that said, the hunt was on to find a reasonably priced iron, w/ good reviews. After reading the reviews of this one, it seemed that overall everyone was happy. Also, the only negative reviews were that some long time users felt the product was not as heavy duty as it once was. Still, the results seemed to be ok. I looked up various lists on line for "best flat irons," and this one made a couple lists. So after reading the reviews, and seeing the sale price, i went for it. I must say that i absolutely love it!!! Whenever it would rain in the past, I would automatically just wear my hair up to not have to deal w/ my hair fighting the humidity. This past weekend, i wore it down w/ no issues!! lol (Keeping hair dry of course though). I highly recommend and very pleased w/ this product!

Great straightener! This is my second one. The first one I ordered in 2011, and it still works great. I got the second as a backup when I lost my luggage (then got it back luckily). Anyway, I have thick hair and it grasps my hair just right for styling. Nice to be able to adjust the heat as well. Highly recommend!

This is the third HAI flat iron I have purchased and owned over the years. All of them were well used and each of them broke understandably after they were accidentally dropped onto a tile floor numerous times. I looked at others but decided to go with the one that was tried and true.

I have used my old HAI for over 20 years . My Hair Stylist actually ordered this product for me when she found out she was moving away and would not be able to do my hair anymore. She taught me how to use this tool and I have been very happy with the results. The only reason I had to buy a new one is because the ceramic coating started to peel and that’s very damaging to your hair. After 20 years I would start to peel too, especially under intense heat!!! With that said, I can only recommend this product. I only hope that the new one is as good as my old one!!!

I generally don't write reviews, but feel like I need to with this product. I have been a stylist for 40 years and LOVED the first Hai flat Iron I purchased. I thought I was buying the same one, but this one is a waste of money. The first problem I have with it, is that it turns off by itself. I leave my iron on during the day while I'm working so it's ready to use on any client. Every time I pick it up to use it, it has shut itself off and I have to wait for it to heat up again. My first Hai iron didn't do this. The second thing I hate about it, is that it has absolutely no grip whatsoever. The hair just slips right through, making me have to pull the hair through it many more times than I should - wasting my time, and adding more heat to the clients hair than it should. Unfortunately I have had it more than 30 days ( I was going to start a new job and made my salon purchases a few months before actually starting, so now it's too late to return). I feel like I totally wasted my money on this.

I have owned this iron for many years. I have curly hair & the with the least amount of humidity exposure...POOF. But NOT with this iron! I first got mine 6 years ago & fell in love! Of course when CHI became the newest thing I had to buy one, but I wasn't impressed & ended up returning it & buying another of this same exact model. I the past 6 years I have bought 3 of these (one of them because it was stolen out of my car). They are non-damaging to your hair & with on stroke you get your desired style. I either wear mine straight or loose wavy curls (I know I have curly hair why make them, it's a curly hair person thing). I must also mention that these are quite a deal on here, I have bought all my other's from a high end beauty supply which cost me $150 each time. I was concerned at first that this might not be the exact model of mine once receiving it.....NOT true, it is my exact model! I jumped for joy! It also arrived in such quick time I was extra happy w/ the service. A new returning customer. Meghan :-)
