I have owned this iron for many years. I have curly hair & the with the least amount of humidity exposure...POOF. But NOT with this iron! I first got mine 6 years ago & fell in love! Of course when CHI became the newest thing I had to buy one, but I wasn't impressed & ended up returning it & buying another of this same exact model. I the past 6 years I have bought 3 of these (one of them because it was stolen out of my car). They are non-damaging to your hair & with on stroke you get your desired style. I either wear mine straight or loose wavy curls (I know I have curly hair why make them, it's a curly hair person thing). I must also mention that these are quite a deal on here, I have bought all my other's from a high end beauty supply which cost me $150 each time. I was concerned at first that this might not be the exact model of mine once receiving it.....NOT true, it is my exact model! I jumped for joy! It also arrived in such quick time I was extra happy w/ the service. A new returning customer. Meghan :-)

I did extensive research to buy the best possible flat iron, because my daughter has kinky curly hair, and I wanted an iron that left hair straight and glossy without frying it. First I bought a Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium, the ultra slim one, which was very expensive. It left her hair looking like straw, and freezed up quickly. I did more research, and found the highly rated Jilbere Nano Ceramic one...I bought ot at Sally's, well, it felt cheap, the plates didn't come fully together, and I had to pass it like 6 times to get hair smooth. Returned that one, too. Finally, I decided on the Hai because I had had one years and years ago, and was extremely happy with it, but because of reviews from customers saying they weren't built the same, and they were cheaper built now, I was hesitant to buy another one. Plus, back when I got one, it was very expensive, and now they are so cheap that it made me doubt the quality...WRONG! I just bought one of these and I am sooooo happy! This flat iron is a dream! It heats up quickly, and leaves my daughter 's kinky curly hair so smooth and shiny! It feels sturdy and looks very well made, looks very professional too.

Over the last several years, I always stuck w/ a cheaper flat iron, prob in the $25-$35 price bracket. I constantly would try different hair products, thinking that was the issue. My hair is naturally curly, and gets very big in humidity especially. After the last trip to the salon, the hair dresser used her very fancy, expensive flat iron on my hair...and what a difference!!!! Her's was super expensive, so there was not way I could afford it. But she did say that investing in a good flat iron was worth it. She said the cheaper flat irons do get very hot, but do not give off the right kind of heat, which results in damage, and less than stellar results. So w/ that said, the hunt was on to find a reasonably priced iron, w/ good reviews. After reading the reviews of this one, it seemed that overall everyone was happy. Also, the only negative reviews were that some long time users felt the product was not as heavy duty as it once was. Still, the results seemed to be ok. I looked up various lists on line for "best flat irons," and this one made a couple lists. So after reading the reviews, and seeing the sale price, i went for it. I must say that i absolutely love it!!! Whenever it would rain in the past, I would automatically just wear my hair up to not have to deal w/ my hair fighting the humidity. This past weekend, i wore it down w/ no issues!! lol (Keeping hair dry of course though). I highly recommend and very pleased w/ this product!

I've had a GHD flat iron for many many years and recently it broke probably because I wrapped the cord around the flat iron to store it (won't be doing that again). I wanted to replace my flat iron right away since I wear my hair straight everyday, but I didn't want to break the bank (GHDs are well over 100 dollars--at Sephora they're priced at 185). Luckily, I remembered my friend from high school had a HAI and it worked well for her and for me whenever I would borrow it. I had no idea how much the HAI cost until I looked it up on Amazon, and I was very happy to find out that it was much cheaper than the GHD iron. Long story short, for the price this flat iron works very well, perhaps just as well as my GHD iron. I have really thick and coarse hair so the fact that I can adjust the temperature to 400 is a great feature (the GHD is at a fixed temperature around 370 I believe). Also, a welcome difference is that the plate is 1/4 inch wider, which doesn't sound like a lot, but actually makes a big difference. So ultimately, I am able to compare this HAI iron to the top of the line GHD, which costs a lot more, and I can say that the HAI can compete. To be completely honest, I can tell the GHD is a tad bit better, but not THAT much better, so the fact that the HAI iron is comparable but 3 times cheaper is great!

Great straightener! This is my second one. The first one I ordered in 2011, and it still works great. I got the second as a backup when I lost my luggage (then got it back luckily). Anyway, I have thick hair and it grasps my hair just right for styling. Nice to be able to adjust the heat as well. Highly recommend!

Great product. It's was brand new never used. Just like the ones that I used to sell in my salon. Box came in perfect condition and just in time for my trip. My previous one lasted for 5-6 years. I hope this one will too. The seller is great at communicating as well. Thanks! 12/22/11 This was a great product until this week. The flat iron has already shorted out and doesn't stay on anymore and barely works. I now have to purchase another flat iron. I will get the same brand, but not from this seller. I'm very sad that it only lasted 2 months. I have a case for it and I also a shelf for when I'm at home, so this flat iron doesn't go through anything that would have caused it to short out. As I was doing my hair one more it started making a popping noise & then just stopped working.

I purchased this with a bit of hesitation after hearing people complain about the straightner giving up on them shortly after their purchase. I decided to take a chance on it and follow the advice of other reviewers who said that you shouldn't wrap the cord tightly around the straightner, as that damages the connection and causes it to stop working. I've had this straightner for 2 1/2 years now, traveled with it multiple times (never wrapping the cord around the straightner though!) and it's still working great! I have fine hair, but I have lots of it! I probably damaged my hair at first thinking having it on a higher setting was better, but I've been able to dial in the heat setting that works best for my hair, and I love that I can change it. I'm not stuck with whatever the manufacturers think the heat needs to be at! I also love that it makes wonderful curls that last a million times longer than any curling iron I've used! If this iron ever dies on me, I would come back and get another in a heart beat!
