I was very happy with this new "model." It had a different grey instead of gold screw on base. I hooked it up to the faucet and didn't need a clamp and nothing burst. This hose adapter is very easy to use. You just screw it on the end of the hose and slip the "sleeve" over your faucet spout. Do NOT turn the water on high. You'll want a slower flow. This isn't great for car washes, but I use it to fill up the RV tank from my kitchen or bathroom faucet and it works for that. Would it fit over a pull out kitchen faucet head about 2.5 inches in diameter?** A: No. It doest stretch hardly at all. It only allows you to push it over an outside water faucet that maybe the threads have been stripped or is just a water pump type with no threads at all. Not to go over a kitchen faucet. When you push it on its thick so it allows for a good seal. Doesn't stretch much but conforms. **Q: What is the hose fitting size for this thing? 5/8 or 3/4? It just says standard.** A: The brass threaded male part of the water bandit is a standard GHF (garden hose fitting) that is on any 5/8 or 3/4 inch garden hose. The rubber end is technically intended to fit over a stripped male water hydrant faucet or a stripped male hose end. However, if the male fitting has been cut off of a 5/8 or 3/4 inch hose, you can force the cut hose end into the rubber end of the water bandit and get somewhat of a decent seal. Sticking the cut end of the hose into the bandit and then securing with a hose clamp is a better approach. In any case, you probably will not be able to apply full water pressure to the water bandit connection. It is meant as a temporary fix to just get you by - but it does work. I've used it at dump stations where the brass fitting has been cut off the end of the fresh water hose and then connected the dump station hose to my own hose to flush out my black tank. **Q: Would this work on an old 30s-40s style bathtub faucet? I want to use it to put a hose on to wash my dog.** A: I may be wrong but I don’t think it will fit over the faucet, if you can get it on you may need a hose clamp to keep it on while washing the 🐶 **Q: At a local state park, the fresh water access is simply a rubber hose. No fitting at all, just a hose with the fitting cut off. Would this work?** A: Possibly at a LOW flow rate but you would have to either manually hold it in place or tape/zip tie it or it will fall off. I used it in threaded old fittings and inside on spout with good raised details and it would always pop off unless I used zip ties. Oh well. ### ⭐ This is barely ok, and even that doesn't last *by G***R on December 23, 2023* I bought this for the same reason as one of the previous reviewers, to attach a short outdoor hose to my deep sink faucet so I can wash my dog with warm water outside. That reviewer was basically happy with how it functioned, but I'm not personally . The item itself seems well made and useful, but it constantly pops off the deep sink faucet once the water is on. You have to keep the water at barely over a trickle, or.the pressure blam it off, forcing you to go replace it in the middle of washing the dog. I've made great effort to seat the sleeve deeply, and be super conscious that there's no restriction to flow -- for example, using the spray head was quickly out of the question. So when it's actually working, I just have a very tiny stream of water, no spray head, and certainly no pressure. It does function, so that's better than nothing, but only barely. A side note -- the categories for stars are "Durability", "Lightweight" and "Value for Money". They have little to do with the actual ability to use the thing. I only responded to "Value for Money" and gave it two stars. Revised: It's now a month later, and after 1x daily use, it's not working at all. Just pops off immediately, even with all above tricks used.
