Gadget things like this rarely work as advertised or if they do ...
I was a little weary of actually purchasing this product. Gadget things like this rarely work as advertised or if they do work they don't tend to last very long. I live in a rural area that's heavily wooded. I rent a small house with the front and the back door. A few years back the landlord let me install a screen door on the back. Like any other screen door it the fulfilled it's purpose. The weakness of the screen door is that it still allows lots of insects in via the sides and the specially at floor level. That meant of course I had to go and purchase all kinds of little products at the local hardware store to try to seal around the door but of course it has to be flexible because the door has open and close. Those additions still cannot completely keep things out. That has prevented me from purchasing a screen door for the front.A friend of mine has an earlier version of this product probably the as seen on TV version. They used it for their back door to help cool their house and that way they won't always having to open and close the door going in and out while entertaining all of us.I had always kept it in the back of my mind and since living in the Northwest we basically had a short summer in the middle of February it reminded me of this product. I struggled a little bit trying to figure out which version to purchase here on Amazon and then finally decided on this one. I know this is long-winded so please forgive me. All that said this is a fantastic value and works very very well. The fit and finish and surprisingly the strength of this product allows it to be used on several different size doors I think. I decided to use the tax as opposed to the Velcro because I didn't trust the adhesive. It's probably fine but I figured with all the humidity in the Northwest plus the varying hot and cold temperatures and all of that going in and out what eventually stress and overcome the ability of the adhesive to be durable over time. The tacks are high quality. There is an ample amount.Over all it installs easily. The magnets seak each other out, so to speak, better than I would have thought. Do not install too tight or there will be gaps where there aren't any magnets. I added a 1.5" x 1.5" piece of cedar to the base of the door jam to fill the empty gap. I'm going to attach a magnet in the middle of it so that it creates kind of seal.Basically this thing is awesome. I would just add a magnet on each side of the base. Then throw in some magnetic tacks to simplify placement.

WAY better than other brands, I leave it up YEAR ROUND!
I wanted to get one of these since the first "magic mesh" commercial premiered. I looked at all kinds, brands, and even considered making my own. I love this thing. This brand may be more expensive but it will last MUCH MUCH LONGER! Worth the investment. I even bought a second one for another door! LOVE IT!As an update (Three Years Later), I am on my 4th one of these - for two doors in three years (I replaced the first 2 after 1 1/2 years of not ever taking them down). I use them on all of our screen doors. Each one LASTS ME OVER A YEAR. I do not even take it down even in the winter. Now, I do NOT use the velcro included - I buy and use this VELCRO - Industrial Strength - Extreme - 4" x 1" Strips, 10 Sets - Titanium . What's included will work for a short amount of time, but it will fall off eventually. This other velcro I buy lasts ALL YEAR LONG - Though ICE, SNOW, RAIN, WIND... It's perfect. You'll see from my photos I opt to slide the screen door all the way open, leaving it in the tracks, and then mount the velcro to it on one side. I MUCH prefer this brand to the "Magic Mesh" because it holds up better, it lasts WAY longer, AND - the magnetic closure is SIGNIFICANTLY better! The magnets are sewn in to the hem ALL THE WAY DOWN. This is important because the other ones that have thin mesh with intermediate magnets will leave big fat gaps - which will let bugs in.We use this to let our dog come and go when we're home, and it's also perfect for grilling... We live in buggy NC (TONS of mosquitoes) and grill a lot. This allows us to protect ourselves and our home from the bugs, but allows us (or our dog) to come and go hands-free.I cannot say enough about this. Everyone who comes over asks about it and I have to send them the link so they can order their own. My neighbors bought one for their RV, my Brother-In-Law got one for his back door (for his dog), and as inexpensive as it is, it's one of the best investments we've made.Take a look at the pictures. I hope this review has helped anyone considering this purchase... BUY IT!

Better than the "as seen on TV" version of this product.
If you're on the fence about whether to buy this or one that is half the price, spend the money, the cheap ones don't have the same number of Magnets so they leave more gaps and don't close as well. MEASURE FIRST! Many of these also don't fit anything bigger than a very narrow door frame. The only issue I have had is the adhesive on the Velcro isn't great, clean the Surface first and then apply, you can use the pins also if you need to, I have heard other people say that they purchased a stronger Velcro and it works better but mine was fineMY RATING SYSTEM:I try to stick with the same criteria and system when reviewing products and here is how it breaks down…FIVE STARS: Great Product, would feel completely confident in recommending to others and consider the product to be a great overall value with no obvious faults.FOUR STARS: Still a very good product, I consider it to be overall a good satisfying purchase and can still recommend it in good faith but there is one small aspect about the product keeping it from a perfect score.THREE STARS: A good product but not a great one, it operates and appears as advertised but more than one aspect of the item is undesirable. This is an item I would use but probably consider an alternative option.TWO STARS: Product is definitely lacking in quality and or the way it operates. Would not recommend it to others and would seek and alternative elsewhere. It maybe just barely does what it is advertised to do but is probably not worth the money and there are many negative factors about it.ONE STAR: No two ways about it, this is a bad product and I would not recommend anybody purchase it.

Worth every penny
This is a real good quality fly screen. I've had several ones that I had bought of ebay that looked similar, those have now ripped or magnets fallen off. This one has lasted me months without any wear or tear to the net or magnets. Highly recommended.Pros:+ Good strong magnetics inside the seam+ Net closes and clicks automatically back into place after you walk through it, due to the force of the magnets+ Keeps even the smallest of insects out of your houseCons:- The included adhesive doesn't stick well to walls however the pins are a good substitute for this (also included)

Highly recommend this product
I read hundreds of reviews about these things and have had the cheaper white version which has come off the frame umpteen times. I went for this one on the basis of the reviews, did as some did by turning down a hem at the top, stitching it on the machine and inserting a tension rod through the hem. Works a treat, hasn't fallen down, it's more reliable than the other and no sticky pads to take the paint off, although these are supplied. Highly recommend this product
