But for gaming it's a perfect size. Windows looks and works great at 144hz and the extra resolution gives you a lot more screen space to play with. Video quality is good as well, e.g. Planet Earth ii looks amazing. Not top quality but very good indeed.There are plenty of video presets to change the display to, including one that filters blue light for longer work/play sessions. 60hz is disabled by default - you need to switch to the gaming mode to apply it.Finally, the "cor look at me, I'm an MLG gamer" green styling is less annoying than it looks from the product images and the light can be toggled off if it really annoys you. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ HP 27xq great monitor as others said *by P***. on 18 November 2020* This is a review of model 27xq as Amazon group different variants in the reviews which I personally find unhelpful when researching a product.I spent too much time going round and round trying to choose a gaming monitor, I eventually chose this model based largely on the helpful review by Sebastian in 2019. My laptop has a Nvidia has card so I was happy to see this would work unofficially with gsync.. and it does as Sebastian says.One doubt I had was with the asthetics, I wasn't too struck on what looked like bright green lines either side of the centre bezel but they are actually virtually invisible and it looks great.. The centre green led is not bad either ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cheapest 1440p 144hz 1ms response time monitor I could find *by T***O on 5 November 2020* I bought this from Amazon when it was on sale for just £224.99. That most likely made it the cheapest monitor with these specs on the market at the time (and boy was it worth buying).Let me begin with the positives:- It's 1440p, has a 1ms response time and 144hz refresh rate making it literally PERFECT for gaming on a more high end rig.- The AMD Freesync is compatible with Nvidia graphics cards. After a small amount on faffing about in the setting, both on the monitor and my PC, I was able to enable Freesync with my Nvidia GPU so that's pretty nice.- Brightness. Dear Lord this thing can make you go blind if you have the brightness all the way up. I have it at between 0-15% depending on the time of day as (I kid you not) even in the day time, anything about 50% is BRIGHT!- Adjustability. The included stand allows you to move it up and down but also all the way 90 degrees until the screen becomes verticle... If that's any use to you.- The colours are fine despite it being a TN panel. I'm not sure if I'm qualified to say that considering I've only ever used TN panel monitors but oh well. I think the colours are just fine and have not felt the need to tweak them in the settings what so ever.Now for the 'not so positive' stuff:- You have to purchase a DisplayPort cable separately if you want to experience the beauty of 144hz. I'm really not too sure why it wasn't included in the first place, but for the price I bought this monitor at I'm not complaining (too much).- Inescapable green aesthetic. This monitor does come with some green lighting at the bottom middle which you can adjust the brightness off or turn off completely if you wish. However, there is green plastic there too. Also on the bottom left and right there are green strips that don't light up but are visible either way. If you hate green or don't like the fact that you might be stuck with certain colour choices for you gaming setup, you might not want this monitor. Personally though, I'm not bothered by the green and turning off the green lighting is always a few button presses away.- The bezels aren't quite like in the photos. I did already suspect this when purchasing but for those who don't know, there's about a 7mm or so of black screen on the top and sides right before the actual bezels which are very thin. So be aware of that.All in all, this is a great monitor.
