AWAKEN THE DAWN is a new collection of hymns and songs from Keith and Kristyn Getty. With a distinctly Irish flavor and shaped as a service of worship, this album takes you on a lyrical journey of grace and hope for all the nations. Review: Amazing album! - It's not very often that I appreciate an entire album. Most of the time, there are a few songs that I will purchase separately, but I rarely buy an entire CD. Awaken the Dawn is an exception. I thoroughly enjoyed each track from this album, and the lyrics are very mature and powerful. I was not aware that there was such a thing as 'modern hymns' until I started attending a church that played a couple songs from this CD. Modern hymns have a similar melodic flow and lyrical depth as the old hymns while having a modern sound usually associated with contemporary worship. The Getty's music here is a great example of this. The album itself feels like a musical church service; Call to worship-Hear, O Israel, Opening hymn-Come, People of the Risen King, Communion Hymn-Behold the Lamb, and the Benediction-May the Peace of God. Following the Benediction song is a couple of bonus tracks: Reading from Psalm 57 and What Grace is Mine. These are nice, but they feel somewhat anticlimactic after the Benediction song. It would have been better if Psalm 57 were placed in the middle of the album to follow the church service structure of the album. Nevertheless, this is not a deal-breaker by any means (you can always rearrange the music in your phone or MP3 player if you want). I highly recommend this album if you're looking for spiritual inspirational music. Final tip: I recommend purchasing the album digitally from desertcart (currently $9.49) as you'll save a few dollars. Most people have MP3 players or smartphones these days, and if you want to have it on CD format, you can always burn this music to a cheap CD-R. Review: great quality music and text - I am a clasically trained musician who also enjoys Celtic music. If I am given a "Christian contemporary" (a/k/a/ pop) CD to listen to, I might identify 1-2 tracks out of twelve that I would consider using for worship. Maybe a few more in the case of a Robin Mark CD. On this CD, there are NO mediocre songs - each track is of very good quality both musically and textually. I wouldn't call Kristyn Getty a world-class vocalist but her voice is pleasant without being syrupy and she sings worshipfully and with good style. In addition to the disc that rides around in my car, we've ordered additional copies to give to friends and family members.

Wonderful, uplifting, inspiring, worshipful, enjoyable, and life changing.
I just love this CD. The music is so inspiring and worship filled. I play it over and over again. Kristyn's voice is so pure and beautiful. The Getty's contemporary hymns are worth listening to by everyone, and I'm an old fogy who prefers the more traditional hymns. I would recommend this CD and any other Keith and Kristyn Getty music to anyone and everyone.

One of their best CDs
I loved the songs on this CD and it was in perfect condition! I actually purchased 2, one to give away as a gift. I was disappointed that one of the cases was cracked about an inch. Perhaps in route it got cracked through mishandling by the P.O. I was surprised that one came with a bonus CD. I really enjoyed hearing the Gettys explain how they made their songs in an interview. Thank you, Amazon, for making it possible to purchase more music at a lesser cost.

Excelent
They are uplifting the Holy Spirit and Christ by accurate use of scripture. However her voice and the flow of the band has caused myself and several of my friends to completely enjoy their style the hint of Irish is extremely endearing yet light and not out of range for most life styles and the violin and energy of their style is almost overwhelming it is so powerful yet smooth.

Can I give it six stars?
This album is well produced. I really appreciate the thoughtfulness that went into each song. The liner notes include comments from the composers that shed insight on the potential use of each song in a congregational worship setting. We listen to this CD all the time. It been such a blessing to introduce several of these songs on Sunday morning. We purchased the companion piano score; also excellent.

She has enjoyed it tremendously
I bought this as a gift for my mother, who loves the Getty's music. She has enjoyed it tremendously. There is a good selection of music with a beautiful Irish flavor. When the Keith and Kristyn sing, it is as if you're transported to another place.

Awaken the Dawn
Keith and Kristen Getty's CD Awaken the Dawn continues the beautiful, worshipful music heard in the In Christ Alone album. This music is uplifting, prayerful and personally encouraged me through difficult times of trial and painful sorrows. The Lord has truly ministered to me through the Getty's music. Also the exquisite Irish music is deeply moving. What a wonderful blessing!

I had long awaited this album and it more than surpassed my expectations. There is a real and genuine depth expressed in the lyrics of what the Christian life and the love of the Saviour are all about. This album has been especially important to me in that it has been a great encouragement during times of personal difficulties, reminding the listener of the faithfulness of God to the individual during times of 'unexpected sorrow'. The album contains songs that are already popular congregational pieces ('Come People of the Risen King', 'Creation Sings' and a few others) and some which I think will become so, e.g. the challenging 'What Grace is Mine' sung to the tune 'O Danny Boy'. In short, the music and words intertwine beautifully to inspire and encourage the listener to trust and rejoice in God. So, highly recommended for repeated listening and meditation, and a great gift to give someone.

This couple puts out intelligent artistic and most import Godly music. What a pleasure to listen to,

A great selection of tracks. Defintely has a more 'Irish' feel than 'In Christ Alone'; this seemed a bit odd at first, but actually the more I listen to it, the more I appreciate it. Some of the new hymns are really beautiful. I got mine for ยฃ2.99, so mine was great value! The current price is higher, but I'd say it's still pretty good.

I enjoy listening to this CD and there are little given with each song that help give more meaning to the song. I have ordered other CDs and enjoy them just as much as this one and would love to get more of Keith and Kristyn's music.
