I purchased a white basket for my Day 6 semi-recumbent bicycle. I have the coolest bike EVER. The only negative is that people stop and stare and ask me where I got my bike interrupting my ride. The basket is great for carrying small items such as a cell phone, a sweater or small jacket, etc... Even my riding buddy asks if she can put her sweater in too when she gets a little warm - plenty of room. I use it for picking up fresh baked bread to take home after my ride. Love it!!!! The basket has two leather straps that buckle. This is perfect for my bike. I strap it onto the lower part of the handlebar and it hangs just above the front wheel (be sure to measure the distance from your handlebar to the top of the wheel). It is sturdy and does not bounce around (which was an initial concern). I am not worried that it will come loose and fall off. The straps are well made and should last for years to come. The only negative, if it is a concern to you, is that anyone could simply unbuckle it and take off with it if left unprotected; but there's not anything that can stop a determined thief. They would probably take the whole bike if it is not cable locked. Sad that we have to think about this!!!!! Lastly, I like the front basket much better than adding all of the additional equipment for a basket in the back. The savings and the way the basket looks is ideal for me. No fenders were added nor any additional hardware.

I finally got the beach cruiser of my "teen dreams" for my 50th birthday and I wanted a basket that looked stylish and was large enough to hold the water bottles & snacks that I take on family bike rides. The Nantucket Lightship basket is perfect for this use. The leather straps are thick and the solid brass buckles hold the basket in place nicely without any sagging when the basket is full. The placement of the straps fit my beach-cruiser-style handlebars perfectly. The sturdy basket is very tightly woven so you don't get any splintering and it holds it's shape very well. My husband originally balked at the $50 price tag but after witnessing how well it's held up compared to his lower-cost basket...he agrees it was worth the extra cost. I live in Miami and have used the basket for 5 months and it has been working great. I am writing the review because some reviews said their basket was falling apart, mine is still in great condition. I use it for my purse, books, my daughter's lunch box, things like that. I have been using it 5 days a week or more since February and less often before that. I wouldn't put something super heavy in it or want it to get wet but it has been great for my purpose and is very attractive, I have gotten compliments on it. That being said, I did see one on another bike at the grocery store and the bottom was starting to break apart. I can only surmise that they let it get wet and that might lead to deterioration.

I just wanted a small basket for my bike, just big enough for my phone and camera. I thought this one was smaller than the others because I misread the dimensions. I was going to return it. I kept telling myself to return it. It's just too expensive for something I can't even use. It doesn't fit my bike. The straps are too far apart for my Townie. And even if it did fit, it's just way too nice to be strapped to a bicycle. So why didn't I return it? Just out of curiosity, I put some flowers in it. It looked really pretty, so I placed it on top of a large chest in the corner of my bedroom. Well, I shouldn't have done that because now I can't bring myself to return it! Normally I would not pay $45 for a decorative basket. I already have too many of those. But it looks amazing! In dim light, it glows. In bright light, it sparkles. Short story long - this is a beautiful, high quality 5 star basket.

I loved the look of this basket, and it has plenty of room, Really good size, however I think it works as more of a decorative item and hold light items. The wicker woven feels like it a bit flimsy and I would be afraid to put anything too heavy in it afraid of cracking or breaking it it. It holds on to the bike nice and looks great, and it does not come off over bumps and stays in place. Again this is a very nice looking basket and I love the look, but for the price I would have rather have gotten something I would not feel afraid of breaking it or putting holes through it. I will still be using this, but for lighter Items for a nice day ride. I really like the durable straps that hold the basket to the bike, no fear of them coming undone or dinging or scratching anything. The picture does not show that it comes with a brass looking plate in the front with the company name and a logo of a basket on a bike, but you can easily unscrew it to take it off....I am taking mine off as I liked to look of it without like the picture, and to me the plate takes away from the prettiness of this item...which also is a lighter color than the picture, and would have liked the more darker Honey color...but that's just me....I love it and just only like it, I am only giving 4 stars because I was hoping it would be a bit more sturdy, but I wont be using it everyday so hopefully it will last a while.

Cute accessory for my new cruiser bike. This basket is well made and fits easily on the handle bars. It has quality leather straps with brass buckles to secure it in place and make it easy to take on and off, and the brass buckles add some lovely character to the style of my bike and the basket. My only real complaint is that one of the screws holding the Nantucket logo plate on the front worked loose and is now lost, so I have to find a brass screw to replace it. The price is a little high but the quality of the basket is definitely better than other cheaper baskets out there, overall I am really happy with my purchase.

Not super sturdy, but very pretty. I would go four stars, for lack of sturdiness, but, let’s face it, you’re buying this because it’s gorgeous. We bought one of these 10 years ago for my wife’s cruiser. It looks super cute, and holds her stuff just fine. But it’s wicker, which means it breaks down when exposed to the elements, and ours eventually broke. We shopped around, and there’s still none cuter. So we’ll keep her bike in the garage, be careful to remove the basket when carrying the bike on the car bike rack, and plan on replacing it again in 5-10 years. I would not recommend this if your bike sleeps outside, if you carry a bunch of heavy stuff, or expect your basket to be tough and burly. If you like cute, and you’re OK babying your basket and replacing it eventually, you’ll love Nantucket.

The basket is a good size for my ladies bike, it is well made but not as sturdy as a wicker basket which makes it less bulky. It's perfect for my bike & the bits & bobs that I put in it after a cycle into town. Very happy with my purchase.

Dieser Fahrradkorb sieht absolut süß aus und es passt auch genug rein. Durch seine bauchige Form fallen die Dinge nicht heraus. Er lässt sich wunderbar einfach mit den zwei Lederriemen am Lenker befestigen und es hällt prima! Das Material ist sehr stabil und hällt auch den Regen ohne Probleme aus. Wer also keine Lust mehr auf die langweiligen Einheitsfahrradkörbe aus Metall hat, ist mit diesem Korb absolut bestens bedient. Sehr empfehlenswert!

I love the look of this basket on my cruiser ebike. Great shape. Nice construction…good weaving Looks classy. It is sturdy but not meant for a heavy weight since it does not sit on a platform. Just nice for phone, gloves, keys, loaf of bread etc. For heavy items get a basket for rear rack
