Review: It's helping me slowly. It might do the same for you. - I bought this unit a couple of weeks ago with the intention of using it for my back which gives me hell on a regular basis. The first time I used it, I noticed a mild difference that lasted a short time. Subsequent treatments seem to bring more relief and last longer. I used it on my shoulder on which I'd fallen twice in the same year (You can imagine how it feels.) The improvement there has been much more significant. Based on some of my research, I thought I might try it on my feet to treat my peripheral neuropathy. I'd had anodyne treatments in the past, but have been looking for a reasonably priced alternative. The first time I used it, there were places where I couldn't feel the pulses even at the highest setting. But my feet have very slowly become more sensitive to the pulses. The key word here is "slowly." This isn't happening overnight. I see small increments in improvement. But I do see improvement in the neuropathy. That's fairly remarkable as neuropathy isn't an easy thing to reverse. I'm not sure I'll ever get all the feeling back in my feet, but if I get enough to feel secure walking I'll be thrilled. Bottom line is that if you have a problem that a TENS unit might be able to treat, it's worth the money to at least try. Do your homework on TENS units and your condition, then read the reviews of the various units. I'd originally intended to try a brand that's been advertised on TV, but the reviews here on desertcart convinced me to spend an extra couple of bucks and get the Santamedical unit. I'm very happy with it. My expenditure in both money and time is significantly lower than it would be if I was having professional treatments of any sort. I don't advocate self-treatment for everything, but where there is the potential to see significant benefits -- viewed objectively -- without any significant risks, then it's worth a shot, in my opinion anyway. Again, do your homework before you decide on any course of action, and read both pros and cons. ETA: I thought I'd provide a couple of updated observations. I tried it for carpal tunnel problems and couldn't stand more than 5 minutes on the lowest setting. However it did help. I could see the results the next day. As for the peripheral neuropathy, I seem to get my best results with treatments every other day. I don't know why this is, but I do see improvements on the second day after a treatment. My best advice to you if you choose to try this, is figure out what works for you and go with it.
Review: Very Impressive Unit - This little unit is very surprising. It operates on 4 AAA batteries which were included, and it's about the size of a cable TV remote control. I was skeptical at how effective a handheld this small would be, especially with such a modest power supply and no way to plug it into an electrical outlet. However, after turning it on, my concerns were laid to rest. This little device is a power house. I can't feel much at levels 1 & 2, and at level 3 it's as intense as what the Chiropractor administers. I've pushed it as high as level 4 and can only stand that for a minute or so. I can't imagine how anyone could push this higher than 4, and it goes to 10! The instruction manual shows that you can place the pads on the soles of your feet, so perhaps the greater resistance from one sole through your legs and hips to the other is where the higher levels will come in handy. The instruction manual says the voltage range is from 0 to 80 volts, so it's got some very effective step-up circuitry. As others have said, there are 3 manual settings of Massage, Beat, and Knead. From the instruction manual: Massage: 100-250 micro-second pulse width, 16 millisecond period, variable speed, 4 seconds on, 1 second off. Beat: 500 micro-second pulse width, 1 beat per second, speed adjustable Knead: 100-250 micro-second pulse width, 16 millisecond period, variable speed, 4.5 seconds on, 0.5 second off. There are also 5 preset routines for: Waist, Shoulder, Joint, Hand-Foot, and Sole. Amongst the presets is the Repeat button that allows you to hold a specific pattern of treatment that the presets are administering. The pads are very sticky and adhere well to the skin, but peel away easily as well. I'm very impressed with this unit, and am very pleased with the purchase. Highly recommended.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nifty little toy
*by A***R on January 3, 2014*

I bought this not to manage pain, thankfully, but just to have fun:). I must admit - i WAS skeptical that anything running on 4 AAA batteries could pack a wallop. I have been proven WRONG yet again:). Be sure you start out on the lowest setting, ONE, and SLOWLY see if you like it higher. It starts to feel like sticking your finger in an electric socket above 4, at least to me:) I really like the various preset patterns. My ONLY strikes against this unit are: 1) the MOST problematic, it only runs for 15 minutes then turns itself off and you have to reset the intensity dials back to zero to start it back it up. This is a MAJOR nuisance. Even though I'm a GUY, I still like to take my time and I ALWAYS take at least an hour. The finish line is much more enjoyable if you have a lengthy and pleasant race to find it. 2) I'd really prefer if it ran on AC current. Batteries are always annoying - I cannot comment yet on how long they last, though I have run mine about an hour so far on the first set of 4. 3) The pads are not going to stay sticky for long, and they are only easy to stick on larger flat areas of your body. If you are hairy, that sort of gets in the way, but does not get yanked out on pad removal. 4) It would be nice if you could have 8 pads connected at once instead of 4, and a bit more cord between the set pairs for more variety in placement. If anyone knows an accessory glue that can be used on the pads to make them stick better, please send up a flare. Overall, it was well worth $30. I've spent far more on things that were far less fun. One ex wife comes to mind.... UPDATE 2/7/14: 2 points 1) the batteries last a good long time. I've used it a total of 15 hours at least so far and there is no sign of diminished power. 2) if ESTIM is what you are after, a better choice would be the ZEUS 6 channel electrosex powerbox, better because it has SIX outputs as opposed to only 2 here, and because it runs from an included AC adapter (but can run on batteries if you prefer), AND most importantly because the ZEUS timer goes up to 70 minutes, and if you are anything like me you will find 15 minutes WAY TOO SHORT - see reviews of ZEUS or order on AMAZON here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003KQ7N6A/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ZEUS uses the same 2.5mm connection type for the lead wires as this unit does.
