This product is a life saver, it really works getting rid of unwanted colors. The only cons is that smells bad

this stuff definitely works! I dyed my hair a month ago decided i hated it and wanted to come back without damaging my hair a lot. i used two boxes. I followed the instructions to a T and got results I wanted! The smells wasn’t as bad as I read in other comments.. I kept the fan going in the bathroom to pull the smell though while i did it. It did get more potent when rinsing but two days later and there truly isn’t any kind of bad smell in my hair. black shirt is before, pink and yellow shirt is after

I have dark blonde/light brown hair. I tried Natural Instincts 4RV Dark Burgundy, Rich Plum which is supposed to be a demi-permanent color that washes out after 12-24 washes. It's been 6 months and I still have dark red hair! The brightness faded, but the dark color is still there. I tried all the homemade recipes I found online with things like baking soda, vitamin C, and dawn dish soap--it had no impact on the color (but dried the heck out of my hair!) After researching, I decided to take a chance on Color Oops since it sounded like the worst that could happen was that there would be no change. I wish I had done this months ago! Most of the color came out. I would have done another round of Color Oops but I have long thick hair so I used up the whole bottle on the first application. That said, I'm still happy with the results. I'm buying it a second time because I think that will get the rest of the color out. But even the color I'm at now is so much better than the DARK red/brown it was before. This is so much closer to my natural color. The only drawback to Color Oops is the smell--it's like rotten eggs. It didn't bother me when I was using it, but a day later I can still smell it on my hair. It's weird because you have to do SO MUCH shampooing and rinsing while using this product, you would think it would rinse the smell away. You leave it in your hair for 20 minutes, then shampoo and rinse for 20 minutes (yes 20!), then shampoo and rinse for 5 minutes, shampoo and rinse 5 more minutes, shampoo and rinse for 5 more minutes. It's a loooong shower. But it's worth it because I was so sick of that box dye color. I followed the instructions to a T, setting my phone on timer mode just outside my shower where I could peek out and check how long I had left for each step. It feels excessive but the instructions stress how important all the rinsing is. I wonder if the reviewers who saw no difference were rinsing long enough. I wanted to leave this review because, when researching, I had a hard time finding anyone mentioning a product that definitely removes Natural Instincts demi-permanent hair color. So here is one that does! But you may have to use it more than once. If you have short hair, you can get 2 uses out of Color Oops and that's probably all you'd need. UPDATE: bought a 2nd box of Color Oops and it made NO difference. I dragged a space heater into the bathroom to make sure it was warm in there (directions say not to be near a cold draft). I even did an extra shampoo and rinse session! There's was absolutely no difference, so I think the results you get from 1 application are the best you're going to get. So I'm taking my rating down by 1 star because Color Oops made a significant difference but did not remove the color completely. The best tip I can give to anyone reading this is: Don't believe ANY BRAND of demi-permanent dyes, they do not fully wash out of hair!!!!!!!!!!

I have used this product several times in my life and have always been satisfied with it BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT ITS SUPPOSED TO DO, AND WHAT IT WILL NOT DO! First of all, this will NOT take you back to your original, natural, hair color, as its not supposed to. When you dye your hair (no matter the color) you use a developer which is made from hydrogen peroxide; this is what lifts the hair cuticle so your hair can absorb the color molecules of permanent and semi-perm dye. EVEN IF YOU DYE YOUR HAIR BLACK this is the process, so your natural color has been permanently compromised by the developer. Generally your natural hair is now, at the minimum, a shade lighter. if your natural hair color was dark, it will pull red because the undertone of dark hair is red. Ok, now having said that... what this product does, if you use it properly (meaning you use enough of it and follow the directions) is remove the oxidized color molecules, thereby removing the DYE COLOR only. not the effects of the developer. Your hair will be left with the color that the developer lifted it to which is usually a lighter brassy or red color. Having said that - most people will need to re-color their hair after using the product to get a shade they like, or at the very least TONE out the brassy, if you don't mind the actual shade/LEVEL. However, I would advise waiting 3-7 days after using the product to do so as your hair cuticle is recovering from the process and will absorb much more color often giving you a darker re-color than you intend. Yes, the product smells. It has a sulfuric odor (rotten eggs) that many people describe here. That is the mild chemical that slightly lifts the hair cuticle (similar to, but nowhere near as much as developer) and deoxidizes the color, shrinking the dye molecule to a smaller size so it can wash out of your hair shaft. The process does dry your hair (it is still a chemical, but not as strong as peroxide or bleach) as does the process of shampooing with hot, hot water which is required to remove the color molecules. Make sure to get a good conditioner/hair mask or some coconut oil to moisturize afterwards. The hair masks and coconut oil will also help with removing the lingering smell, which usually lingers for a day or two. If you have dyed your hair many times you will likely have a lot of color molecule saturated in your hair, so you may have to use the product more than once to get it all out. Always start by applying the product at the ENDS of your hair, where you will likely have the most accumulated dye, and do the roots LAST! Also wrap your head to keep the heat in, as heat helps the product to work. Sometimes, before I wash it out, I will use a hair dryer to heat up the ends as a little boost. Your roots will get heat from your head, so they will likely process better. (similar to bleaching) You will need to wash your hair very well, several times, preferably with clarifying shampoo and rinse, rinse, and rinse with the hottest water you can stand. Again heat helps wash the color molecules out. Do this for at LEAST 15mins, but longer if you can stand it. You will need to deep condition your hair well after all this, because it is a "stripping" process. (both the chemical process and the extensive washing and rinsing, but it is a lot less damaging than coloring, and certainly less than bleach! (both of which you always use a deep conditioner after, right?) I have had my hair every color under the sun since I'm 14, and I've used Color oops often. It works. End of story. You just need to have realistic expectations of what it can do, when you follow the directions. Its good to HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING OF HOW HAIR COLORING ITSELF WORKS before you use this product so you understand how this product reverses that process. It will also help you understand why IT DOES NOT WORK ON DEPOSIT ONLY COLORS like Manic panic, artic fox, etc, that only "coat" the hair shaft, not penetrate like permanent dye. It's not a magic wand, or a genie, so, no, it won't get you back to your pre-dyed hair color, but it will get the color you don't want out of your hair shaft so you can re-color or tone it. It's also good for removing color build-up so dye takes better to your hair. Please research how permanent hair-dye coloring works and have REALISTIC expectations, and you won't be disappointed.

SELLER Feedback: I will not take off a star for this, but the seller: "Mango Six B&M" sold me TWO boxes that BOTH had the large solution bottle with taped back up caps on, only half of the solution in it and wrapped in bubble tape. The other (small) solution bottle appeared to be full, but the lid was ALSO taped on. I had to combine the two bottles from each box. THank GOD I already bought a box of this stuff from CVS before this order arrived (I couldn't wait and I have long hair, so I thought I may need two treatments and then I forgot that this order already had two boxes coming). I am literally sitting here, with the solution on my hair (for a second application) from combining the contents of both boxes, hoping that it's not going to F-up my hair (WHY THE HELL was the solution bottle half full/empty??). PRODUCT Feedback: I have naturally blond hair that was dyed dark brown forever (past 9 1/2 years) and then I went burgundy/red for a long while with bouts of dark brown root touch-ups. Mostly box dye, with some salon dye-jobs in between. I saw my blond roots as they were growing out lately and now I had a rainbow mess and thought: "You know, I'm not turning gray yet and I'll be graying within the next 15 years, I bet, so maybe going back to blond will be less cumbersome and easier to maintain, since I'm naturally a blonde anyway!" - I want to go almost platinum and priced it out. With color correction, to get the red and dark brown out, I was looking at $150/ hour at a salon and I saw that women who were doing the same thing, were taking up to 6 hours in the salon! I don't know about you, but I don't have that kind of dough lying around. 1st application, was yesterday. I was impressed. The red/brown came out and I did see a LOT of orange tint in my hair, but I expected that. Especially since I put a lot of harsh red (box dye) pigment into it AND my blond is a really brassy/ yellow/ orange one anyway. I thought that I shampooed and then rinsed enough, but I may not have. After a while, after a blow-out, today, it looks a bit darker. I read up and found that I did not rinse enough (do not rinse until water is clear, just KEEP rinsing for 20 minutes). Here I am right now, reapplying a 2nd application (using Olaplex treatment with it, so that my hair integrity is not compromised by the peroxide) because I still have a dark band of hair that goes around my head, above my ears that is still noticeable after the first lift (must have been a certain salon or box dye job that was different from the rest. It was already a darker shade than the rest of my head before attempting this color lift). After writing that last paragraph, I went and rinsed for 20 minutes. Holy moly, that is an exercise in patience....rinsing for an ENTIRE 20 minutes! All in all, it works great. just be ready to use a purple shampoo or toner to eliminate serious brassiness and use Olaplex and a deep conditioning treatment to insert moisture back into the hair shaft. I am going to put coconut oil in my hair for the rest of the day after the Olaplex treatment formula 2 that I have in my hair is rinsed out. I will probably give my hair another day of rest after this before I start bleaching. The poor dear has been through enough already.

I’m very happy with this product. It worked really well and was easy to use. I noticed a clear difference after using it, and the results were exactly what I was hoping for. The instructions were simple to follow, and everything worked as expected. I would definitely buy it again.

The photos speak for themselves. I dyed my natural dark blonde hair red on a whim with 7R permanent dye. I had accepted it was going to take me a year to get back to my natural color. After one application, it was like the red had been nothing more than a rumor. I almost cried. For reference, my hair is ~24” fine, low porosity, 3C curl pattern. I do not use bleach on my hair. You really do have to rinse and shampoo for 20 minutes.

After reading TONS of reviews on this product and a few more like it with no bleach..... I went with two boxes of this. I have naturally very dark hair, with a yet unknown amount of gray. After 13 years of coloring my hair every three weeks, I decided I was going to go natural. I talked to two different hair dressers who WOULD NOT DO IT for me!!!! Not sure if they knew what was going to happen for sure, or just had a conflict of interest. BUT, this takes the color out of your hair, no doubt. But you will end up NOT your original color. Do not be deceived by other reviews, or optimistic. Many of the warnings inside the product (not on the outside of the box mind you) say that you will not get back your natural color, particularly if you have dark hair. What I have learned is that even if you dye dark hair dark, as I had done to cover gray. The dark DYE actually uses peroxide to lighten your hair first and then deposits the color molecules on your hair and the developer 'expands' them to stay in your hair shaft. That is how they 'know' what color your hair will be when done, otherwise it would be a little different for everyone depending on your original hair color, right? SO, if you had dark hair going into ANY other color, it will be coppery when you remove all that color. FOR SURE. (I'll try and find the right after photos and add to this). If you have gray or light colored hair, you will also end up with some off color, but it will depend more on what color you had colored it and I cannot speak to that... my grays are just a lighter shade of the copper than my darks are apparently. It will take a couple months for it to grow out and know for sure. SO, if you are 'going natural' to salt and pepper after coloring your hair dark for many years my advice to you is this. Let it grow out as much as you can stand it after you stop coloring before you do ANYTHING. I had longer than shoulder length hair... and I now have very short hair except for on top, and that is going shorter before I"m done!! Remember, it will grow back.. but I could not stand the idea of just suddenly having salt and pepper roots with dark brown everything else and let that grow out that way. SO, this will lighten it and give you and in between stage. OR you can have the salon do highlights to start blending it in as you transition. THERE IS NO GRACEFUL, QUICK, one step solution to this objective. This worked out OK for me, people just thought I was doing another odd color job, I have varied between auburn and dark brown over the years, but ALWAYS colored before my roots would be obvious... Now in the back, all the colored hair is cut off and the shaved/taper neck is mostly dark brown and the longer stuff looks copper, it is 60% the dyed shaft in length and 40% grown out. At my next cut in a couple weeks it would be at least 75% natural with just the ends being coppery on the top half of my head and might look like that style they have now where you color the ends a different color!! who knows, but it is a good transition for me! GOOD LUCK TO YOU if this is what you are trying to accomplish! I think 3 months of patience is the only real solution!

Ragazze non temete non rovina i capelli, chi l'ha scritto non ha seguito le istruzioni perché è impossibile rovinarli con questo prodotto che è più naturale del decolorante e a 5 ingredienti in croce. I miei capelli sono ricci un po' rovinati dalla decolorazione che avevo fatto e sono rimasti uguali super morbidi. Vi spiego come ho fatto ma è quello che c'è scritto : dovete tenere in posa per 20 minuti non di più, poi sciacquarsi con acqua calda per 20 minuti, fare lo shampoo e sciacquarsi per 5 minuti questo passaggio va ripetuto per 3 volte, se avete i capelli tanto rovinati anche meno ma questo lo dovete decidere voi (io ne ho fatti 3), poi si fa la maschera con le proteine, in realtà c'è scritto balsamo ma io avevo in casa una maschera ed ho usato quella l'importante è che sia alle proteine e va tenuta per 20 minuti. Questi sono i passaggi giusti da fare, lo so è un lavoraccio ma almeno si elimina i vari errori commessi con le tinte di colore sbagliato. Io non sono venuta del mio colore originario, sono uscita un bel biondo scuro (forse è la reazione a tantissimi colori che avevo fatto), però dopo una settimana ho fatto la tinta (questa volta del colore giusto) e sono venuta perfetta come nella scatola. Per me è promosso a pieni voti!

Color Oops works miracles when trying to strip your hair of Henna. I have dyed my medium ash blonde hair with pure, red Henna (by far the most difficult to remove) for around 6 years, giving my hair a full Henna treatment every 4-6 weeks but not doing anything else (like bleaching) to it. So I had A LOT of build up and my hair darkened from a light, still somewhat blondish copper to an auburn red. After the first session it already lightened the color considerably and went from the auburn red back to a much lighter reddish copper with the roots (which only got one Henna treatment 2 weeks before) closer to a light strawberry blonde. You could almost see my natural hair color shine through in some spots. There is still a lot of red on the lengths, escpecially on the tips but that's not surprising after years of build up. I needed to use almost 2 packs for my close to waist lenght fine but full hair. Don't skimp on it or your result will be uneven because it needs to be applied to DRY hair. If you didn't buy enough and are unsure if it will cover your whole hair, slightly dampen your hair to allow for better spread. This will diminish the effect BUT you will get an even effect. Always chose a weaker but even effect over an uneven but stronger one. I left it on longer than per instruction. It says 20min, I yielded much better result from leaving it on for one hour. The instructions are meant for chemically died hair and it's probably better to stick with them but for Henna, leaving it on longer yields better results. I've read that some people left it on for as long as three hours but I didn't want to take the risk yet without knowing how it would affect my hair. I washed it out for ~15min and shampood twice, had to take a break, covered it with a plastic wrap and a towel to preserve heat and moisture and washed it out again a bit later. I would've gotten better results if I had been able to wash it out for 30min straight but wrapping it if you need to take a break still works fairly well. The smell wasn't nearly as bad as I expected after washing it out. It's not pleasent but not too bad either. I deep conditioned my hair afterwards, blow dryed and it felt fantastic. Very soft and smooth with a silky shine to it. It didn't damage the hair AT ALL; it didn't even dry it out. If you want to either fully remove Henna from your hair or get rid of some of the build up to go back to a lighter color, this works. Absolutely recommend it. Very gentle, effective and completely safe to do at home.

ça a vraiment bien fonctionné sur moi. J'avais les cheveux rouge vif (coloration semi-permanente à base de pigments) et ça a bien dégorgé. Certes l'odeur n'est pas agréable mais après les deux shampoings recommandés l'odeur était totalement partie. Il a également fallu rincer très longtemps pour que le produit prenne toute son efficacité (encore une fois comme recommandé) donc je conseille de vraiment bien suivre les instructions. J'ai fait un bon masque hydratant après et mes cheveux ne sont pas plus abîmés qu'avant application

I NEVER leave reviews but I will for this. I was absolutely terrified to try this with such mixed reviews everywhere. Id recently box dyed my blonde hair to crimson/burgundy. By box 3 I was over it. And here we are now. Did exactly as the box said. And im not even mad at the end colour.. Shampoo, rinse and REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT!!! I watched as each rinse changed and im so happy with the so result.

I know this would work great to get the colour out watched YouTube videos and it does work great.
