Ground breaking television police drama starring two female cops in serious portrayals of a tough profession. With contrasting personalities, each have a different perspective on both personal and professional situations. As the two tough women faced the challenges and triumphs as real women, not victims ,they amassed a huge and loyal fan base Immensely popular TV Police drama First series to tackle women’s issues in a realistic portrayal includes 119 episodes on 32 DVDs. Review: The Definitive Cagney & Lacey set! - A fantastic robust black plastic box set containing all of C&L from the Pilot with Loretta Switt to the 1990s reunion movies in polyester fabric DVD sleeve folders. The internal packaging isn't great but it's better than the cardboard sleeves the scratch up discs. The Pilot is there with all of the first season with Meg Foster (rather confusingly labelled the 'lost episodes' instead) and all the remaining seasons are there (also confusingly listing season 2 as season 1 because it's the first season with Sharon Gless!) plus the 4 TV movies following Cagney & Lacey's later activities between 1994 and 1996. The interviews that were previously released in The Menopause Years box set are also included as extras with the TV movies so nothing has been left out. About as complete a set as you can ever hope to get and well worth the price on desertcart. Review: Great series - Great series. Tends to drift towards the last few episodes due to change of programme production team. Movies pick it up when the right people are back in the production team.

Hours of pleasurable viewing
Not quite all the series, only the ones with Sharon Gless. Would of liked the four made for TV movies as well. But hey 121 episodes to watch and enjoy. The discs do require a DVD player capable of playing USA region discs. Most players can do this with a tweak - check internet for how to set your player to the correct region.

Really good
Enjoying it. Remember watching it as a kid although I don't think I remember the real lovey dovey bit.

good delivery time
Box damaged, won't stay closed without cover (hence 4 stars). Arrived a week early, impressed. Only watched The Lost episodes so far. Plays well on multi region player.

Great series, basic Dvd collection
The series and leads are great. The Dvds are basic, no season/episode labels, no episode guide, just a list of the episodes on the particular disc you have installed, four to six episodes per disc. There are all the annoying features of Dvd technology in this collection, which I never liked but there's no other way to get this. The annoying rights page, followed by the producer logo with its loud if brief theme. The clunky move to the episode you pick. Then there's a preview of the episode before you get to the opening credits, with the show's theme now played for the third time. DVDs were always like this, so awful compared to DVR recordings. The fast forward, reverse and scene skip don't work very well, it could be my player. The video and sound are fine though, with no commercials of course. But, I find most the episodes boring. There's alot of character play, but it doesn't interest me, like the habits of the chief officer in the station or Lacey's husband and their relationship. It could be the different time, but I was part of the audience they sought when it was new, late 20's to early 30's single professional urban woman. I didn't watch it then though. The leads just chat alot and there isn't much action or suspense, it almost seems shocking when something happens. But, I maintain that TV must be dramatic and drama isn't a copy of real life blahs, it has heightened feelings and actions. I watched Simon and Simon back then and it was my favorite show and I was right. I don't like any of the Cagney & Lacey supporting cast, all guys, but I think they're good, I just don't like them or care to see or hear them. But Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless are good, together and apart in the show, the top female team in TV history. Their costars can't approach them in terms of being interesting or having talent or charisma. Cagney never dressed like she lived in NYC, she had more of a Florida or S. Cal. wardrobe.

buoni dvd

Back to the 80s

Love this series ‼️
It came promptly and well boxed, I just wish the distributor had packaged the cd’s better. That aside all the cd’s played perfectly
