Waltons Bodhrán 12" (Celtic Cross) - Handcrafted Irish Instrument - Crisp & Musical Tone - Hardwood Beater Included w/Purchase

My bodhran came at the expected time in great condition. My uncle played the bodhran with my aunt in a band and my father knew a little bit about what a good one would look like. We have a strong Celtic heritage and my dad was also to identify the importance of the symbol in the center of the drum and what it was actually supposed to be. Its a thistle. I will take a picture of it here soon. Anyway, I am 100% happy with my purchase. It has a better sound than I even expected after listening to bodhran demonstrations on Youtube. Its beautiful and well built. The accompanying pamphlet thing gave a good description of its history and how to take care of it. I learned things I didnt yet know. I had wanted a purely pagan design for my bodhran as I am a celtic pagan and I got what I was looking for. It was a pleasant surprise that people traditionally play this instrument on my birthday, May Day. I intend to learn some songs for it, but if nothing else, it will be completely traditional for me to play it on my absolute favorite holidays and it will be so hereditarily empowering to do so. Im excited and very grateful I got it for such a good price! [my dad was surpised I got it for so cheap!]

I have always wanted to play the Bodhran but not until I saw Walton's drum did I finally purchase one. This lovely, inexpensive Bodhran comes with a teaching CD and a very nice Tipper (drumstick). It has a fine and lovely sound, and a beautiful design on it (mine is "The Chase"). I have had the chance to look at the beginning of the CD, and it is very clear and helpful. So while I don't think an Irish band is going to hire me for my talents, I am happy to sit and play along to "Whiskey in the Jar" or "Star of the County Down" until my husbane turns off his hearing aids.

Bought so my son could learn to play, it's beautiful but he has no interest in learning... Damn teens!

At the last moment I thought of this drum as a BDay gift for an Irish music lover. It had to arrive FAST. It arrived 1 hour earlier than promised. It was well worth the extra $11 in shipping to get it on time for his party. I opened it to make sure it was in good condition. Perfect & beautiful! It was worth it when he opened our gift with a BIG smile & surprised look as he said “ I’ve Always wanted an Irish (Bodhran) drum!” We felt very happy that we surprised & pleased him. The drum is very high quality craftsmanship & would be pretty hung on a wall as a work of art, and played & enjoyed as well.

Excellent drum. I was skeptical about buying this at first because it felt kind of "I went to Ireland and I found this in the gift shop". Thing is though, this is not a souvenir kit, this is very nice! The drum sounds good, the beater is not bad for a starter stick, and the video is informative and helpful for a beginner. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.

Very well made. Beautiful design and colors. Comes with stick and a free video lesson. Just returned from Ireland & wanted one for my grandson who plays drums in high school band. Gave it to him for Christmas. He loved it. Great unusual gift especially with the included lesson to get started

The drum is gorgeous, the gold tones shine and it rings out beautifully! Now I just have to learn to play the thing :)

Great value.

Small drum, great for small hands. If you use water to loosen the skin a bit and enhance the tone, use very little or the skin gets too loose and you won't be able to drum for a while. Really love this seller. Went above Nd beyond expectations. Would definitely buy here again because of the service provided with this purchase.

Le Bodhran est très joli et le cd-rom de prise en main est bien fait. Bon rapport qualité/prix. Je reproche cependant le manque de soin dans l'emballage du coffret : du papier bulle (transparent) avec juste l'adresse collée dessus ! Bien entendu le plastique était un peu explosé à l'arrivée mais, par chance, le carton était intact. A propos de tact, je n'apprécie guère que ma postière puisse voir ce que je commande pour y aller de son petit commentaire sarcastique... Hé oui, tout le monde n'habite pas dans une grande ville.

Impressive for the price. The case is the box and it's sturdy. The finish is really good. Proper decent. Great gift idea. No hesitation with this for recommended.
