SW4 Standard Holster for Smith & Wesson K&L frame revolvers, Taurus 431, 65, 66, Right Hand Paddle

I purchased this holster for a Taurus model 66 , 4 inch barrel " old model " made in the late 1970'-1990's . The holster fits very well , it has snap in retention in the medium range, it holds the revolver firmly without movement or rattle, but the holster is quite easy to draw. I think this modern form fit polymer looks good/ sharp. The finish is matte black . The paddle goes in the pants easily and retains the holster and revolver firmly with a just right forward cant. You can't go wrong with this holster and the price was great.

Nice holster fits my S&W model 15 but does not fit my Windicator .357

First, I have always had leather holsters in my life, except when I was around 10 years old using a toy gun. This was purchased with some reservation due to the fact that I don't like plastic holsters as they look cheap and they break, normally. I also own a S&W K Frame with a 1" shorter barrel. I needed a holster that would not be obvious and it needed to be light in weight. I called Fobus before I purchased and was told that it would be fine but the barrel would simply be 1" longer than on my S&W. I received it in a reasonable time and sure enough it looked like a plastic toy holster at first. After examining it, I appreciate that there was a good deal of thought that went into the design. I inserted the S&W and there was a distinct "snap" sound as the holster tends to grasp the trigger to keep it secured. I slipped the paddle just inside of my jeans until the two latches locked under my belt. OK, the S&W is indeed positioned with a slight forward cant, is it secured? Yes. Is it easily pulled out from the rear? No. How about the draw? Very nice! Very Smooth, however, it must be pulled straight up which was not really a problem. In a nutshell, plastic yes, but you get over that very quickly. IMO It is well designed, well built, very light, draws and re-holsters smoothly and your piece is secure. I think that most will approve of this one, especially at this price. It is a perfect fit for my S&W 357 and it meets my needs. It certainly has me re-thinking my thoughts about plastic holsters in general. From an old dog; Well Done Fobus!

It fits PERFECT on a S&W .357 revolver, model 66 k frame. I bought it 4" eventhough mine is 2" barrel. Thas no biggie to cut it down to length. I couldn't find a good range holster for this gun, and price +QUALITY is OUTSTANDING. THX

This holster gets three stars for its three star price and the equal quality of the product. It retains K-frame Smiths OK, L-frame is a better fit for retention. The attachment of the paddle to the body of the holster is weak, it does flap a bit easier than I'd like. I had no misconception of what the product was, I needed a cheap holster that would retain a hammerless (DAO) Smith 64 and this fits the bill. I wear a 1.75" belt and there is a bit of a fit issue - the paddle/holster junction is a bit narrow so I get a poor fit. A 1.5" belt works fine. Also note that depending where the belt loop of your pants is located this might also effect how the holster rides.

Perfect range holster for my S&W 686.

It was very difficult for me to find a decent holster at a reasonable price for my 'Canadian' S&W 686 (i.e. the 4.2" barrel). This is constructed for the US 4" version (which is prohibited in Canada). Only a very small portion of the barrel pokes out through the open end of the holster and it does not affect its utility. Are there more robust kydex holsters out there? Probably. But they are also at least twice the price. One drawback is that the 'paddle' is fixed. It's not possible to remove it and attach a different belt attachment. But, if you are looking for a moderately priced holster that will fit a 'Canadian' S&W 686 for casual range work, this will do nicely.
