Gear Head USB 2.0 Flat Panel Speakers for Home/Office (SP2500USB)

I saw these were sold in a variety of stores, so I thought, how bad could they be? I didn't buy them for computer speakers at my desk, but for use with my laptop when I use it in the bedroom. I also bought them specifically thinking the volume control would control the headphone volume input as well, as I have a special use for that too. It doesn't. That's why I give them 2 stars. These are tiny, light and they tip over easily.As speakers, they sound better than my wretched laptop speakers for listening to dialog on TV shows or movies. They go louder too. I owned a pair of Logitech "can" USB speakers that were also this cheap and they sounded much better than these but the wire broke right at the base, where I couldn't repair it. A few people had written in the comments that they tended to do this, and you have to be very careful. I learned my lesson. Never buy anything from Amazon that has only one review. That means something.

The Gear Head speakers were a very good value for the low price, but do not expect top quality sound. I just needed them so I could participate in webinars on the computer. I listen to a local radio station while I am on the computer during my workday, but I surely miss a nice rounded tone with bass boost when listening to music. For the purpose I needed these speakers, they do a very good job and they balance nicely. The sound seems to come from the middle of my flat panel monitor which is nice. I would recommend this product to others.

Don't expect Hi Fi Sound, these are your plain vanilla desktop speakers which do the job as long as the job is not primarily listening to your favorite tunes. They will be just fine for your typical computer beeps and bloops and for your chat voice etc.No bass to speak of but then the speakers are tiny.Useful for what they are. Well made for the price.

Yea, these speakers are as tall as an I phone 5 and as wide as one too. A problem I'm having with one of the speakers with the volume knob on it, it will occasionally stop working, so I just need to tap on the volume knob, or turn it. These things are really loud though, after you tap your volume knob, It starts blasting, only if you have the problem in the last sentence or whatever, if you dont have that problem, it should be already loud enough.-Adam T.

When they are 'off' they are very static-y. I got them b/c they were cheap.. and they are. They work, but I unplug them when I dont actually want to hear something (like a song or movie) since the background static is irritating.

I bought these speakers because my original speakers with my desktop had taken a dive. Not the best quality sound, that's for sure, but they did the job. You get what you pay for with sound equipment so I wasn't too surprised. All things aside, they serve their purpose. We don't really use that desktop very much so they were worth it for us.

Tinny but acceptable speakers at a price that is OK for my cubicle. The price reflects the sound quality. If you have low expectations you won't be disappointed!

Was looking for cheap speakers to take to work and use. These ones work great and better than expected for the price. I like being able to adjust the volume on the speaker itself instead of having to through the computer.
