I found that moisture stays in my sugar if I use the kind with lids so I was constantly throwing them out. Metal rusted and plastic scratched and looked ugly. You can use a small amount of sugar and still get a nice rim since the silicone is soft, no worrying about cracking fragile crystal rimmed glasses. Added bonus, the silicone grips the counter, even if you get aggressive they won’t slide around. They fit everything from a rocks glass to my largest martini glass. Still look brand new after dozens of trips through the dishwasher. They stack perfectly so I can store several in my shallow bar drawer. They seemed a bit expensive but the quality is good. Durable, nice silicone.

I use this one Cocktail rimmer for all my flavored rimming salts/sugars. Simply pour a small amount in the rimmer. Evenly distribute. Rim your glass. Pour the left over rimming sugar/salt back into your bag. The rimmer is very flexible and allows you to create a "pouring alley" to easily pour excess rimming salt/sugar back into its storage pouch. Washes up with a quick rinse under tap water. You only need one of these to accommodated all your different rimming salts/sugars. Really happy with this purchase.

The raised center is good for wide brimmed glasses not tumblers or highball

It fits all except my giant margarita glass for rimming. It keeps the sugar or salt in the well fairly well. It's silicon, so it is soft, makein it easier to get an even coating on the glass rim. Can pop it into the dishwasher when you are done. Nice product

I really like the raised middle because it locates the sugar (or salt) at the edge. Great for martini-style glasses. Other rimmers are just flat and you waste the sugar in the middle. Great design-unbreakable and kind of non-stick so the excess comes right off.
