very clean. the taste is much like that of Molasses
I like that it's very raw. it has a roasted kinda flavor. Much like that of Molasses. Also, It comes in a glass jar vs. plastic. Good Call!!! I'll buy it again.

Taste is truly awful
Not sure what to thunk. Did I get a bad batch? Or is my palate so used to grocery store honey and I wasn't prepared for the taste?? Can't put my finger on what is so gross about the taste but it didn't taste like a food product, it had a very musty spiked taste and it made me gag like my body was warning me not to eat it. Felt nauseous after eating it on toast with mascarpone. I know it's supposed to be used for health benefits but I could not stomach it and I know my child won't either (this is who I bought it for as a natural cough suppressant). I will have to compare to other buckwheat honey brand tastes. I like supporting small American businesses but I feel people should be warned especially with the multiple complaints about packaging issues by others and opened / unsealed / partially eaten containers being shipped out. Ick.

My non-traditional use for honey
Ok, so I am no longer a honey eater in order to keep diabetes at bay. I still love the taste and sneak a bit now and then, but what I use it for most often is mosquito bites!!! Yep, raw, unfiltered, unprocessed honey (with all the enzymes intact) will draw out the anti-coagulant (what causes the itch) injected by mosquitos and soothe the bite. I was bitten 3 times yesterday, outside the range of our Thermacell E50, and when I applied just a dab of honey, the itch stopped after 5 minutes!!! I have NEVER had this sort of relief before without steroids (my reaction is THAT bad). I bought enough honey (the mini packs are perfect) to last the summer and autumn, and hubs uses it on toast, so it's win-win for us.

Buckwheat Honey
I love this stuff! It has such a rich and complex flavor without being cloying or overwhelming. I mostly use it Iโm my morning coffee but would be wonderful in whole wheat bread, banana bread, etc.
