have A NICE DAY Review: Power cord plugs into BOTTOM of machine! - I feel so stupid! Didn't realize that the power cord attaches to the bottom of the machine. Plugged it into the AUX OUT on the front of the machine and was disappointed that it wouldn't start. Assumed it was defective, returned it to desertcart (free with UPS), and quickly received a replacement. Same problem. How can this be? Tried different outlets in the house. Finally turned to a YouTube video by a great guy in a black Star Wars T-shirt who said he, too, had tried to plug it into the AUX OUT. I thought I had viewed the diagrams correctly but obviously hadn't. Plugged in correctly, it works like a charm. Sound quality is excellent for such an inexpensive device, volume control works well and can be cranked up to really loud. Numerous "nature" sounds include birds chirping, ocean sounds, babbling brook, thunderstorm, gentle rainfall, fetal heart tones, even the sounds of riding on a train (that was unexpected and made me giggle). I haven't worked with the looping function yet, but do not anticipate any issues. Forgive me, Vanzon, you have a great little sound machine here! I stuck with it because the customer reviews I had seen were so good. Glad I did! There is a rain sound which has no thunder and one which has some gentle rolling thunder in the background. Review: Feels like cruising at 35,000 feet in an overseas Dreamliner! - We bought this to be a sound machine for our new daughter and to take with us in the hospital. The first night we turned it on I was impressed at how the sounds had a variety of pitch without all of the typical noise machine noises that are crazy and annoying. They have one type of white noise with varying levels of pitch. The lowest made our noisy hospital room feel like we were cruising at 35000 ft in an airplane it was such a nice help in the hospital. Also it wasnโt too loud for us to hear baby (because she has a nice set of pipes to tell us about). I look forward to this being our travel sound machine but also to help our daughter sleep! Particularly the pitch of white noise (which is to be distinguished from volume) is very helpful because most noise machines like this also seem to have only one. Finally there is a headphone jack on it so that if only you or a partner would want it both donโt have to hear it. *Update* We've now had this noise machine a month and It continues to help our newborn sleep well. It's diversity of sounds is helpful and enough of a difference that my wife and I actually prefer it to the other sound machines (ones that are artificial white noise and other animal noises, etc. Or the ones that are just a fan contained in a unit that puts out the sound of high wind and a different pitch of noise than machines). In one other piece of info, you as a consumer should know that the manufacturer is willing to get a reimbursement to folks who review their products. It's very kind of them but may have skewed some of the reviews but I would say that this product lives up to the hype. I don't think it's manufactured because of rebate money.

Pregnancy insomnia relief & perfect for soothing baby
Weโve been using a noise machine to soothe our daughter and improve her sleep since she was born. Sheโs now two and still naps and sleeps like a dream with a noise sleep aid. Weโre expecting baby #2 soon, and wanted a second noise machine. While patiently awaiting baby, I decided to try this machine for my pregnancy insomnia; my sleep immediately improved. I have never slept through an alarm, but the first night I tried the machine, I slept through my morning alarm, as I was in such a deep sleep. I prefer the first white noise sound - it resembles the sound of the ocean. The sound quality is excellent. Further, weโve tried several different noise machines and many were simply not loud enough to block out other noises, but this machine gets nice and loud, definitely as loud as a babyโs cry, which is the volume level sleep experts recommend when first soothing a crying baby. Sleep experts recommend lowering volume to the decibel of a running shower for a sleep aid, once baby is soothed, and this machine performs exceptionally at this volume level. The more expensive machines with built in nightlights arenโt worth the extra cost in my opinion; Iโve found it more effective to keep the noise stationary and use a portable night light to assist with infant diaper changes and night feedings. Five stars!

White noise machine
Many summers ago, I became accustomed to sleeping with the a/c on. But in the winter, it became quite a problem even running the fan. I couldn't sleep without it. When I moved, and needed to drown out the train going by, and the utter silence, I reluctantly used the fan. The only problem was that it blew around the dust that I couldn't keep up with! I found it made me have an allergic reaction, not to mention I was cold overnight. I went to Amazon to look up if there were white noise machines and there were many different ones. I looked thru' and compared a lot of them, what options they offered, the price, and what sounds were available. I settled on this one. It seemed to offer the most sounds for the comparably priced ones. It was easily adjustable to the sound quality and volume I needed. It drowned out the ambient intermittent noises, like the alarm clock, the train whistle, and the assorted other noises that would keep me awake. After getting used to the sound the first night, and finding the best place to set it down, I sleep like a baby at night. I find myself clicking it on during the day and listening to the babbling brook, or the ocean waves while I am on the computer! It is more soothing and less distracting than the tv! It's one of the best purchases I've ever made!

Really Good
Took a leap of faith and bought this on a whim while searching for a replacement for a much more expensive, mechanical (analog) white noise machine previously bought on Amazon. Have used this at night for several weeks now and we are enjoying it. Not much to complain about: PROS: 1) Cheap 2) Many different sounds and volume levels to choose from 3) Pretty loud for a small speaker, very small overall 4) Pretty good sound quality - not overly "tinny" or harsh CONS: 1) My wife and I swear we hear weird sounds when falling asleep while listening to the digital reproduction of actual noises, especially in the white noise library. My only explanation is that the digital reproduction of these sounds creates odd frequencies or wavelengths that mess with one's brain, causing us to think there are noises that aren't (or maybe they are?) really there. This isn't super annoying, and if you ignore it, it usually goes away. But it's kind of weird/interesting to hear what we describe as high pitched beeps or voices, and we did not experience this with the analog machine. 2) This thing is pretty darn loud for the size, but we wish it could be even louder. We're just crazy like that. Overall, highly recommend this thing for the versatility and price. You won't be disappointed so long as the weird sub-noises don't overly affect you.

You wonโt regret this purchase.
Love everything about this machine. For 26 years of my life I was never one of those people who *needed* background noise to fall asleep. After I moved into a noisy apartment complex I started sleeping with a fan on just to drown out the noise of neighbors and the constant vehicle traffic at all hours of the night, and I got soooo used to the fan noise. When my husband and I bought our house three years later I just about went crazy the first few nights because we had no fans. The silence was driving me nuts. I invested in this machine and Iโm so glad I did! There are many nature sounds, several fan noises, a couple lullabies, and even white noise options to choose from. I am partial to one particular fan setting. I love that there is also the option to set a 30/60/90 min timer or leave it running all night. I tried the 90 minute timer the first few nights, but found myself waking up in the middle of the night after the timer shut it off...and so I would just turn it back on. Eventually I started just not even using the timer option. All in all Iโm so grateful for this machine as I clearly have become one of those people who *needs* noise to sleep. :)

Top Notch Quality for the Price
Our journey with standalone white noise machines began in 2017 with the birth of our first daughter. Our neighbors were noisy, and our units were not well sound proofed. We were given several portable sound machines as gifts, but none of them could really provide more than a whisper of noise, and even if they were loud, the actual sound was thin. We were fed up and sleep deprived, and so in our frustration, bought the most expensive unit we could afford at that time, which was the 'LectroFan. Its a great unit, but was definitely overkill, which was just fine for us. Fast forward two years, and we are in our own house, and have much less issues with neighbors or sound proofing. Baby number two is here, and we decided to get another sound machine for her room. Knowing we didn't need to overkill our situation this time, we looked at several units in the Vanzon's price range. This unit seemed to be good quality, and it definitely is. The sound is a good, DEEP noise, which is what we were looking for. The other features are fine, too, but we were looking for a quality noise machine that works, can get loud, and has a tone deep enough to drown out footsteps, or the occasional car driving by blaring it's subwoofers. This does the trick. Highly recommended.

Great little machine
If you are crazy like me and need a fan at night, get this! This is a great little noise machine. My sister has one very similar to this but paid $50 for hers. I really liked hers but couldn't bring myself to spend that much money on a noise machine. I came across this one and immediately added it to my cart. I read a lot of the reviews on it, watched a few of the videos to hear the sound quality. It sounded exactly like my sisters. I then decided to order it. It had a timer option which is nice (but I dont use it). It has quite a few "white noise" options as well as "fan" sounds. It also has some rain, storm, crackling fire, and night sounds... and lullaby music. This will be great to have in hotel rooms when I travel. I always have a hard time sleeping because it's too quiet or I can hear everyone in the hallway. It's not too big either. In the last picture the sound machine is next to a coaster for size comparison. For the price, I would definitely buy this again!
