Own Your Life: Living with Deep Intention, Bold Faith, and Generous Love

I really loved so much about this book. Each chapter presented a different aspect of life to read about and reflect on, and had journal-type questions at the end to go further. Clarkson has done and seen a lot in her life, and certainly was well equipped to write such a book.I struggled with two chapters near the end—on marriage and motherhood. As a single woman, I unfortunately found nothing to relate to on either front, and really wish she would have even mentioned singleness in passing. The book as a whole, and these chapters in particular, are geared toward a specific demographic...which I met till I got there. Single working woman, no kids—what do I do in the meantime?Thankfully, that was only two chapters! The other 15 were very insightful and made up for it. Defo a book I could reread down the line as I grow and enter new phases of life.

I don't typically write reviews unless the product is absolutely exceptional and I simply HAVE to recommend it. And that is the case with this book. This is the first book I've read by Sally and I absolutely loved it. I love the way she writes. She paints a vivid picture in the stories she shares, making you feel like you are right there with her. It captures your attention and heart. Then she applies it to an important lesson, sharing the wisdom she's gained from God through her experiences. And it's so relatable. Even though we're different people with different circumstances, and different ages, I found everything she talked about so applicable to my life and it really helped grow, deepen, and challenge my faith. I love how her words are so gentle and warm and honest. She invites you into her world, almost like you were sitting across from her sipping tea and listening to her talk. In her writing, you can tell she truly cares about reflecting God's love and light to others, and that is why I believe her messages are so powerful. Because she is speaking God's truth (she quotes many verses). I was thoroughly encouraged, inspired, and refreshed by reading her book and I already want to read it again! Every page contained pearls of wisdom of a life of faith through all the joys and struggles. Even though I'm young enough to be her daughter, and I haven't met her, I feel as though she's a kindred spirit. I truly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading it again as a good reminder of owning my faith, and living my life in a godly way. If you're interested in growing in your faith and overall character, and being inspired to live in a godly way, I highly recommend this book.

It was like having a counseling session or a coaching meeting for free! Well, after I paid for the book. Ha Ha! Sally Clarkson’s writing style is very relational and made me feel as if she really was mentoring me by asking pointed questions that made me think. She calls that section of the book, “Own Your Part” and it allows the reader to come up with his/her own answers to pointed questions or directions. I really connected with the Authors pointed questions she asks during the “ Own Your Part” sections of each sub chapter. By the end of this Part (4) I truly felt empowered for the areas of my Spiritual Life that are important. Areas such as faith, Spiritual Disciplines, emotional health, and integrity.The book truly is a no nonsense approach to taking ownership of the life we have been given. You could easily select the sections of the book that speak loudest to your first then go to a different part. But, you will easily find that you will want to finish the book because of the personal growth you find in the pages of the book.Excellent book for those looking for personal growth and maturity.

Is it funny to say that I was moved from the start? [I admittedly have not read the entire book and will update my review once received] Literally, from the beginning I knew this was 'the book' for me in 2015. I immediately sent a note to Ms. Clarkson on her Facebook page to thank her, through tears, for allowing the Lord to pour this message through her so that mom's, women like me could reap the wisdom and grace overflowing in her words.Ms. Clarkson shares her heart, the lessons she has learned throughout her life and ministry and recognized the fingerprints of God at every step. This is the book that will be the catalyst for me to mark the moments in my life I have often taken advantage of; to open my heart and my life to share my own ministry of motherhood with other women; to understand, that even in the seemingly mundane moments of life I am building a legacy. I am learning that even in those dark moments of life, the ripple effect of my ministry to my family, to my children, is a legacy that will last. Eternity is the goal and I get to be a part.Sally Clarkson has stepped into my home [through the grace-filled words of her book] and we have set down for tea and she has, again, mentored me to be a better mom, wife, daughter of the One and Only. When you read this book you will feel as though she has come for a visit and you will find your soul soothed and yet, challenged for the better.Get this book, and when you do, take what Sally Clarkson has given you and pass it on. Share it with other women in your life. You won't be disappointed.

A must read for mothers. Written from the heart and with lots of experience of motherhood, I loved every chapter.

I love everything this author has written. She has been my spiritual mentor for 3 years now and has helped me to live life with meaning and intentionality.

This book, written by a seasoned mother and mentor is geared to mothers and is a wealth of wisdom. My wife bought the book and absolutely loves it! Now even I can't stop reading it! A highly reccomended book, especially for women, and apparently even the husbands!

I am very pleased with the book, Own Your Life: Living with Deep Intention. The book was referenced in another book I was reading at the time so the content is exactly what I need at this time.
