THis book is exactly what I hoped it was. I don't have the reach for some of the more complex chords that the pros use. I simply wanted a book that would help me restart my hobby guitar paling . This book has it all. No complicated chords, sheet music. It can be used with both piano and Guitar. which helps with the vocals.

It makes it easy to play his wonderful songs

I read music as well as play chords. The melody sheet music is ok but the tab chords, without specific strumming patterns, don't match the melody. It could just be me but I was somewhat disappointed because of the very positive reviews. I'll keep at it and maybe I will improve?

Gift for my son, he loves it!

This book is great for beginner, intermediate or advanced guitar players. The sheet music shows the chords with finger placement. I had to buy the book to get the list of songs in it, so I am providing it here for others to see. These are most of John Denver's greatest hits, only a few are missing. It’s awesome

This basic chord book shows guitar tab, melody notation, chord changes by words of the song and all verses. I love it as I'm a raw beginner and even i can play these songs. All chords to a song are presented upfront, so you know going in what ones you have to practice, which helps a lot. I tuned 2 guitars, and a friend and I can practice and play - as she sings and I don't. Definitely a good learner's book. Shows strum timing also. If you don't know guitar tab, this is not a learner's explanation for that, so use another source to learn - its pretty easy I've found. I'm totally non-musical but I love these songs of my youth!

I like everything about it except the quality of the paper. The music and presentation is good. If it was on a better quality paper and a darker font I would give it a five. It does have the selection of songs, all the chords and notes that I was looking for.

I took a chance on this one, I have purchased similar books before only to find I had to stretch my playing ability before I could enjoy the music. Not so with this one. The songs are great, but the best feature of this book is that it is all open chords. A beginner wouldn’t take very long to start seeing some welcome progress. An intermediate guitarist could have results straight away. Overall, a great book.

Easy to read

I'm in the early days of self learning to play, but find some of the songs quite easy to play. I'm very pleased with it.
