The best gate I’ve used. Sturdy and attractive we use them outside . Easy to assemble, easy to use, helps keep our dogs on the deck. This would be sturdy enough to keep kids away from the stairs too.

This is a really good gate. We're using it to keep the dogs on the deck. Opening and closing latch was a little awkward at first, but we adjusted quickly. It was very easy to install and didn't take much time.

Good quality, solid metal gate for back deck. Locking mechanism is a little different - at least for me - but very effective! My only “beef” is that the instructions for mounting the latch receiver are very vague. Better know how to use hand tools - specifically a ruler & a level. I’m no blue-collar wizard and I got it done - just THINK, measure, and ensure it’s level! I would definitely buy again!

Strong, easy to install, and it doesn't budge easily, but if you try hard enough it will move. Bought 4 to secure the kitchen / dining area for the new puppy and they've been metaphorically worth their weight in gold.One had a slight defect. One of the bolts / screws at the bottom is cracked at the foot, but it doesn't affect the gate in any way. If you wind up with a damaged bolt / screw just use it for the bottom of the frame.It's held in place by friction, but the kit includes cups that can be screwed into the door frame that prevent the feet from shifting. My puppy isn't big enough to need that yet. It's not indestructible, but if the cups are installed the only way to budge the gate would be to snap the bolts and that would be very difficult. I'd possibly break something before those bolts could snap.My puppy is currently 27 pounds and these gates are tough enough for double that.

LOVE THIS GATE!!! I’ve got a 70 lb American Bully and a 90 lb pittie. Both stand up on this gate and it never even moves. Easy to install and easily adjust to almost any size needed.

Assuming this product hasn't changed in the last year, I am a big fan. I've had one installed outside in the Pacific Northwest for over a year. It gets rained on often and has only the slightest bit of oxidation on a spot on the underside of the gate where where water tends to sit the most. Otherwise it looks practically new.The latch mechanism is very simple in design and construction, but very effective. It even confuses my wife sometimes. You have to precisely push both small latches down completely or either one will catch on the gate and prevent it from lifting out. It's not easy to open if you are, say, trying to carry armfuls of stuff. However, a young child is extremely unlikely to figure it out, since you have to precisely unlatch and lift simultaneously before pushing it open.The fit was perfect for my deck entrance. It feels very solid. It's pretty enough. It's just a nice gate overall. My only complaint is that I wanted a second one recently and the price has gone up significantly from my first purchase. I still feel like the increased price is worth it, though.

Several reviews I read prior to purchasing this mentioned that the directions were hard to follow. I had no problems with them except they should state that the directional tab needs to be installed on the lower screw of the latch bracket.One issue I did have (and the reason for the 3 stars) was that I needed to order the extension for where I needed the gate. The holes on the extension did not match the main gate and brackets, they were off by about 1/2 screw diameter. I did get the screws to start and just forced them to screw down but I am not sure what the long term effect of that will be.I will also state that the set-screws for locking the length of the gate need to be a bit longer. They almost screwed in so far that they would fall through. I plan to replace them with some truss head screws when I get a chance to get some stainless ones.
