Sturdy tri-ply stainless is great on induction cooktop, perfect for stir-fry and leafy veggie sautes
When we got an induction cooktop, I needed new pots and pans. The Tramontina set I bought did not include a large saute cooker. I chose the metal lid rather than a glass one; I don't want to worry about lids breaking accidentally in my cabinet! My main use for this is either to cook down lots of leafy vegetables or to do stir-fries, but I have also made frittatas and omelettes for a family group in it. It cooks evenly and quickly on the induction burner. You need to use moderate heat (not really high) and I prefer real olive or avocado oil (in small amounts) to non-stick spray. If you let it cool, then wash it, it cleans up easily. To make it shine like new, I find that Barkeeper's Friend is very effective. So it is not quite as carefree as a nonstick pan... but (a) many such pans don't work on induction burners, and (b) you don't have the health concerns of some nonsticks. The more experience I have with it, the more I enjoy cooking with it. It is well constructed, and I believe it's as good or better than most more expensive pans. All in all, my Tramontinas are the best I have ever owned.

Great Size and Quality
Love this pan for its size and quality. Heats up evenly, even with it being so large. Easy to clean.

Solid, Lifelong Pan
I wanted a solidly constructed stainless steel pan that would last me years and years to come. The huge pro is that it’s not toxic and will last forever. It’s a learning curve to use stainless steel for cooking but worth learning! This pan is heavy but in a good way. The 6qt is perfect for throwing together dinner for my family of 4 with some leftovers. Washes up easily and beautifully. Any stubborn “stains” easily come off with a little bar keepers friend. Definitely recommend this pan and will be purchasing others of this brand. Apple in the pan for size reference of the 6qt.

Simply gorgeous.
It's a wonderful pan so much so that's taken over a majority of the old cast iron pan's duties. It goes wonderfully from cook top to oven, heats up quickly and evenly, cleans up easily, and any momentary blemish goes away with a dab of Bar Keepers Friend. On top of it all, it's simply a gorgeous pan that belongs on display and not hidden in some dark cabinet only to be forgotten. You deserve this pan and probably a few of it's siblings.Oh, don't worry about the old cast iron maiden, she's living large doing outdoor gas burner duties where her sagging bottom doesn't rock and the gentile licking of the flames gets her hot in a hurry.

Seems okay after a week
I'm hardly an expert on cookware or cooking, so I wouldn't normally bother to review this. However, I was extremely hesitant to buy it given that there were only four reviews, so I thought this might help others.TL;DR: The instruction sheet that came with it claims it was made in Brazil (I'm not sure why folks are so uptight about Brazil vs. China, but there it is). It appears to be, as stated, 2.5mm thick, and weighs 4.2 pounds without the lid, and 5.7 pounds with the lid. It's reasonably easy to hold, but I'm a fairly big guy.I bought this because I was sick of running into recipes that suggested I saute a pound of mushrooms at a time, or cook up two pounds of ground beef and a bunch of other ingredients. I love my 10-inch cast iron skillet, but I clearly needed a bigger pan, and this would fill a completely different niche, and might handle acidic food a little better. And I figured that I'd be happier in the long run with a fully-clad pan than the (only slightly cheaper) 5QT saute pan with only a triply base.I've only cooked one meal in it so far -- a fry-up of sausage, onion, and mushrooms. It did a great job (as well as my cast iron, at least), and food appeared to cook across the entire 12-inch surface of the pan, despite my little eight-inch electric burner. In fact, due to the bright surface, I noticed some fond forming, and for the first time with this dish, deglazed the pan, and wound up with possibly my best-ever version.I was concerned about whether the triply was actually moving around the heat, so, following in the footsteps of various cookware reviewers, I spread flour in the pan, put it on medium heat, and looked to see when the flour browned. It actually browned just over the electric heating element, and took longer than I thought it would. When I pulled out my ThermoWorks ChefAlarm, though, it appeared that the temperature in the middle was around 220F, and at the edges it was around 200F, so that actually doesn't seem that bad.I'll try to update this if I see more interesting results, but for now, I'm ready to believe that this is a good pan.

Versatile, durable, large capacity.
Wasn't even sure why we needed this, kind of bought it on a whim when we got an induction cooktop, but I'm glad we did! Good volume, large and easy-to-grip handles, solid as a rock, and easy to clean. Is it non-stick? No, but hot pan, cold protein, and some oil, no problems (if you get it crusted up, put 1/4" of water in the bottom and simmer for 15 minutes, comes right up). Lid fits, great for braising. Very versatile. Would buy again (would buy any of our Tramontina cookware again), but I doubt we'll have to!

DO NOT BUY
I used this pan for the first time following the directions exactly as they were written. Made sure to pre-heat on medium, made sure to add oil to the pan before adding food. Once those initial steps were done I added 12 eggs. After a few minutes they immediately started sticking, to the bottom, to the sides, everywhere. After cooking I lost about 2-3 eggs because of the extreme stuck on mess. This product comes with a “Lifetime Warranty” so I contacted customer service and they immediately denied me a replacement/refund. This pan is faulty, it does not work as intended. Do not even waste your time with it, mine immediately went into the trash.

Nice pan, love it
Love using this pan in place of a wok on my electric stove. Woks just don't work well on electric stoves no matter what because of their shape, even the flat bottom adapted ones. A wide flat bottom like the shape of this pan works well.

Works beautifully on my induction stovetop.
Love this pan for my inductive stovetop. Heats up rapidly. Cleans beautifully. It is heavy, but worth its weight.
