Awesome double sided, course nail failed. One side is douse, the other is medium . I bought 2 sets. One for me and one for mom. These are the exact same sets they use in salons. They’re sturdy, long lasting and get the job done quickly. A great buy for the price. You couldn’t buy 2 off these files at the drugstore for this price point. Don’t hesitate to buy them.

As I understand it this type of file is often used on artificial nails. It is extremely rough and will grind down a regular nail very fast, so I use it on my hands only when I need to quickly shorten nails to match broken ones. But for me they are most useful on big toenails. One of mine has a permanent fungal infection (I know, yuck) so it’s extremely thick and then flakey underneath so even with expensive clippers it’s hard to manage. Enter black file. Problem solved! The files themselves are very sturdy.

This is NOT 100-180 grain. This is an emory board, closer to 80 grain. Do not buy if you want to be able to file your natural nails in more than one direction.
