BEST detergent EVER!!!
This laundry detergent is BY FAR, the ABSOLUTE BEST natural laundry detergent that I have EVER USED! I absolutely REFUSE to use anything else now for my and my family’s laundry. We recently went on a trip and stayed at an Airbnb that had a washer & dryer that we could use. I made sure to bring some of these pods so that I could wash our laundry with this detergent. The a Airbnb offered Tide pods and I didn’t even touch them. This detergent does the BEST job cleaning, my family’s clothes without damaging/fading the fabric. It gets out tough stains and odors easily. I add in some Oxy powder to help boost the effectiveness but I’ve done that with every other type of laundry detergent that I’ve ever used and I’ve tried just about EVERYTHING. Laundry is my passion (I’m a weirdo, yes, I know) but in loving laundry, I’ve searched high and wide for the best natural laundry detergent. I’ve even used the Tide Free & Clear before and while they worked, my family’s clothes didn’t smell fresh because there was no scent. I wanted something that was natural that smelled fresh & clean without smelling like lavender (I personally have never really liked lavender scents). It seems to me that if a detergent is natural, the only scent that is offered is lavender. Boo, no thank you! This detergent works SO WELL plus it smells SOOOOOOOO GOOD! My co-worked even commented that whenever she comes into my office, it smells so fresh & clean without it being an overwhelming smell. It’s soft and not fake fresh like some chemical detergents. My kids also have done so well with this detergent as well. No skin irritation or problems whatsoever. The price point for this detergent is really good as well (in my opinion). Like I’ve said before, I’ve used the expensive name brand (T), the other natural name brand (SG), laundry sheets, etc. (I’ve tried a lot as a middle aged woman with a family). You can’t go wrong with this one.

Great year after year!
I’ve been using these for years and still love the outcome! Laundry smells clean but does not have a soapy smell, and no residue on clothing.

Getting better at doing my part without sacrificing quality
I, like many of the previous reviewers, really liked the idea of an environmentally responsible laundry detergent. I would have preferred a sample size as a try-before-you-buy rather than forking over nearly $30 for 140 pods that I may or may not like, but so far I am not disappointed with my purchase. Previous reviewers mentioned that the casing of the pod does not dissolve in cold water. I don't wash in any other temperature so I just did what we do with all the pods we've ever purchased and swished it around in the water by hand before adding clothes. The casing was either not dissolving or dissolving VERY slow. Rather than take a chance due to some of the other reviews, after all the detergent had been released from the capsule I pulled the casing and threw it in the garbage. I'm not happy about trying to be eco-smart and then throwing away something that I'm not totally convinced is going to break down, but I did not want to have the issue others have mentioned where the casing glues to their clothing. The smell is very light and clean, not overpowering or perfumed at all. I found it very pleasant and my clothes kept that scent even after drying with nothing but unscented wool dryer balls (also a first time thing). How effective are these at cleaning your clothes? The clothing I washed in my trial load were: 1 set of cycling bib shorts worn for a 20 mile ride, 1 pair of yoga capris worn for a 4 mile walk, 2 quick-drying athletic shirts worn for the above activities, a pair of underwear, and 2 pairs of socks. I live in southern Florida and it is hot and humid so any physical activity can create a lot of moisture and odor. I washed my load on medium load size, tap cold wash, and used the heavily soiled cycle. I used one laundry pod and, as noted above, dissolved it in the water by hand before adding clothes. When the cycle was complete, I did the smell test. The chamois on my bike shorts and the armpits of my shirts smelled fresh with no lingering odors whatsoever. I am VERY impressed. I have not worn any of my clothes yet so I cannot speak in regard to skin irritations or allergic reactions, but I've known people that couldn't use Tide or they broke out in hives (and had no known allergies prior to this) so I would imagine some people may be sensitive to this as well. So far I am very pleased with my purchase and can't wait to try the dishwasher pods (I still haven't convinced my boyfriend that dishwashers are unnecessary lol).

Love these but with caveats
I think they are amazing! For the reviews saying they don’t clean, I believe they aren’t using enough pods. We have hard water so we always use the highest amount recommended regardless of brand (so 3 pods) which each load. It works perfectly fine. They actually smell amazing and but the smell only lasts if you don’t run it through the dryer. I noticed for pieces I don’t put in the drier they smell seriously incredible and super clean - not a smell that gives me a headache either. However, if you run your clothes through the dryer the smell disappears and is very faint which is so unfortunate 😅 They do clean really well too! The only problem is the price per load is a lot higher than other brands we swap between (Kirkland, Persil, arm and hammer, etc). And yeah, I wish the smell lasted through the drier 🥲 but the clothes are clean.

cruelty-free, plastic-free and bio sourced
CRUELTY FREE, PLASTIC-FREE (confimed) & bio-sourced. Wonderful company! This product as as good or better than the best laundry pod on the market. I did a large load that had odors and it came out fresh, clean and wonderful smelling! Like Other reviewers, I suggest 3 pods for a normal load and 4-5 for large or super soiled loads. They are small pods, but powerful. I wanted to be sure the company didn’t use plastic in their “casing” surrounding each pod, so I emailed them. They got back to me right away with this: “ The casing (film) on Dropps laundry and dishwasher capsules is made from PVOH (Polyvinyl Alcohol). This isn’t traditional plastic—it’s a water-soluble polymer that dissolves completely during use, so the active ingredients stay off your skin and there’s no mess. Dropps has thoroughly tested this material for biodegradability and environmental safety, and there’s no microplastic formation as defined by California state standards. PVOH is also listed in the EPA’s CleanGredients database and meets Safer Choice standards, highlighting its environmental credentials. In addition, all packaging is recyclable paperboard, not plastic, aligning with a commitment to reducing single-use plastics.” Great company…great product….great for animals, your family and the earth.

Stains and Odors Build Up Over Time
The short review: I've been using Dropps laundry detergent for 8 months and have found that over time my clothes don't smell clean and some stains just don't come out as well. Will buy something else when I use up what I have. The long review: When I decided to switch from the liquid detergent I'd been happily using for decades due to environmental concerns, I chose Dropps based on the excellent reviews on various websites. For reference, we are a household of 2 retirees who rarely get clothes actually dirty, but we live in Florida so sweat is an almost daily fact of life. I used 1 pod of Dropps for regular loads, and only used 2 for extra large or extra dirty loads. Recently, after using Dropps for about 8 months, I noticed several of my t-shirts have an odor around the collar (where I sweat the most). Then I noticed my sheets weren't as clean, with sweat stains remaining where I sleep. I also had to wash my grandson's shirt after he spilled a strawberry drink on it and it took 2 washings to get it clean even though I used 2 pods - when I know the liquid detergent used to get it out on the first wash. It's possible using 2 pods with every wash would fix my odor and stain issues, but that makes this product too expensive and I'm still not confident it would help. When I use up my current supply I will try something else. I just think Dropps doesn't do quite a good enough job of cleaning and over time it becomes more apparent.

Works just as good as other detergents
I was hesitant to try this product. I've been using Tide, and Arm and Hammer, for our clothes for years. They've been my go to due to body odor, as well as our dog sleeping in our bed every night. Our laundry gets pretty dirty and stinky, so I was hesitant to change. My reason for the change though was due to the 0 waste part. I want to be more environmentally friendly. Upon opening this product I was amazed at the size. They are so small. I'm used to dumping a 1/2 cup or full cup of liquid detergent into the wash. So I was unsure how well 1 pod would work for a large load. But I did it anyway, dropped only one pod into my top load washer, followed by my clothes overtop as per instructions. At the end of the cycle came out clean clothes. There was no scent, which I prefer. And I didn't feel like there was any leftover detergent on the clothes like there was with the liquid detergent. Now, I'll admit for extra stinky loads I'll add a small amount of oxy clean (from the box, NOT the plastic container, in order to remain environmentally friendly). I may even switch to regular baking soda. Again, this is for the extra stinky clothes. I've always used these additives, even with Tide. I just feel it helps give your detergent a bit of a boost to kill odors. Overall, I love our new Dropps detergent! Though next time I'll be ordering directly from the Dropps website because Amazon loves to package plastic when shipping almost everything. Amazon will even add plastic if it's a rubber dish mat (I kid you not, Amazon is horrible at adding plastic to EVERYTHING!) So at least ordering from Dropps themselves I won't be getting additional plastic, thankfully.
