I originally went with the smaller shards because I couldn't find any of the larger sized shards. Getting the smaller ones was a mistake, because after a while, the smaller shards ended up blocking some of the holes on the propane burner orifices, causing the smell of raw propane to waft out. Anyway, these beads are much larger and really provide a different look. There are so many colors to choose from.
