A Comprehensive, Self-Guided HIIT Workout Plan
I really enjoy this book. The author overviews HIIT theory, various methods (i.e., marketed/branded workouts) and looks briefly at pre and post workout nutrition. (This is not a nutrition book so that section is more of an overview than a comprehensive "how-to".) As to the HIIT workouts, there are several sections of exercises explained - body weight, hand weights, and machine-based. Each section has a brief overview for the quick and dirty explanation, a full detail description of the move, the payback of why this move is good for you, and why it was selected for the HIIT list. Each move also has detailed pictures to help illustrate the movement. The final section puts it all together into a variety of workout plans. From a basic plan to 2-4 week challenges to improve, there are a variety of levels and goals for individuals coming at this book with zero workout background to the advanced athlete.

I felt the book was seriously inflated with images to pad it out
I felt the book was seriously inflated with images to pad it out. As for substantial content, there isn't really any and the nutrition section was seriously lacking.

Excellent resource on HIIT
Very clear, informative and easy to read/understand. Author's experience is clear, expertise is shared in a way that is empowering to readers. Quality of photography very much in line with what the text portions are explaining to the reader--and it's good. The book focuses on giving the reader a good sense of what they can do to make HIIT part of their life, with tools and steps to follow for any level of athlete. More than one dimensional, this is a book that a reader can go back to, time and again, as they progress in their HIIT journey, in order to add a variety to their own workouts and HIIT protocols that will best suit their own evolving circumstances.

Great book, and a great read.
I wanted to know what HIIT was all about, and this book certainly delivered. It tells you all about the different types of HIIT, such as insanity, p90x etc, and explains how to train like them. There is a brief section on nutrition, although if you follow it, it will bring results. The book is well written, and was a joy to read. The pictures and descriptions are very clear, as are the programmes. I highly reccomend this book.
