Hi everyone. My lipo battery is completely dead. When the battery is completely dead chatger won't charge the battery. Can this charger the dead btry?

Yes lipo batteries do pull down over time you wanna keep those charged periodically around about a 3/4 charge and recharge about 6 months and you should be fine, there is one trick you can do to save your battery doesn’t work all the time but you can put your charger over to nickel metal put you correct cells etc on a low and slow charge 1 to 1.5 amp will do and charge for about 30 minutes or so do not go over that time and be sure to put it a battery fire bag and do not leave unattended this usually puts enough charge into it to go back to your lipo settings and sometimes it will take charge and save your battery, also be sure to always plug your balance plug in and watch cells individually they should come up evenly.

Is anyone else have trouble getting it into auto mode for nimh?

Yep. Bought this charger with the intention of using it for lipos, when I get them, and instead used it on my older nimh batteries. I have the same issue but, venom customer support is awesome. They sent me a new charger and did not want the old one back but, new one still not going into auto mode for nimh. If it works on the lipos, I’ll be happy. Oddly enough when in manual mine shut off and was beeping when the battery was changed. I don’t know if it’s just the display isn’t showing auto or what?

How does the internal temp feature work? Does it stop charging if the battery gets hot? Can you set the threshold?

When the internal temperature reaches a designated rate the charger will stop charging until cell cools. No you can't set the threshold.

Does it have a usb port? can it be upgraded in the future?
