I decided to try out a water fountain as running water is best for bunnies. This fountain is cute, easy to assemble, clean and fill. It's just tall enough for my bunnies to drink from comfortably (Their breeds are New Zealand for reference; 10lbs and 7.8lbs). The pump is silent thought you can hear the running water which could be nice white noise. My bunnies are better with this found and haven't tipped or thrown it at all! I really liked the idea of having filtered water for my pet pup but the investments have proven much less value than I'd initially anticipated. The frequency of changing the filter can vary based on every user. Naturally the more your water your pet consumes during a day directly affects how often the filter will require changing. There is no set rule for that. My maltipoo drinks water a lot during the day and so I found filter replacements becoming a bit costly. Cleaning them the first few times will work but very quickly no matter how much you clean them, they'll have to be replaced which presents an ongoing expense. I have a Samsung refrigerator that doesn't require filter replacment nearly as often in comparison.I removed the filter and just let the water flow through and it seems to work fine. Pets digestive systems don't really require filtering of water. To me its just a gimmick and money maker.Secondly, the biggest issue I have with these units is very poor customer support thatts hardly ever accessible; and the water pump doesn't last very long either.My 1st unit needed a pump replacement before a full year had expired. I couldn't find a replacement for it on neither their home website nor their Amazon site. Finally getting through to someone, I was told they didn't have any replacement pumps available at the time and instructed to keep an eye out for it. After a month or 2, they finally offered a pump replacement on their site.Purchased and it eventually failed in about the same time frame as the original.Opted to get their largest 3.2L fountain and it was great for about 10 months; then the pump started to loose pressure and wouldn't move the water through. Down from an initial high arc of water to barely coming through.I then had to "attempt" to contact them again which has been a virtual impossibility. I would not recommend this product to anyone. It looks great, the concept is great and it works well for maybe a year or slightly better if you're lucky. But by the time you spend the extra bucks with pump replacement (if you can find one), filters and attempts to contact support for assistance; it's really not that great.I'd suggest looking for something similar from a vendor that offers easily accessible replacement parts and perhaps support would also be nice.My "guess" is that they must figure you'll simply buy a replacement unit rather than waste time trying to locate a suitable replacement from them. Which I did do once but never again.
