Effective. Best tester for it's price point.

Using to adjust plant water to assist proper root zone development, the one star knock off is for having to calibrate it just about every 3 days even though I follow all instructions to prevent this neccesity. It's still GREATLY SUPERIOR to the drip test method though. For the price I'm in love with this little thing. It's auto calibration mode make it pretty simple to re-cal.
