Exceeded Expectations & Looks Like a Pro Job
I used the Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Kit for my one-car garage, and I was honestly impressed with the results. The kit is rated for 200โ250 sq ft, and I was able to cover 225 sq ft with solid coverage. Pros: โข Looks fantastic โ clean, glossy, and professional finish โข Easy to apply โ very manageable DIY project if you follow directions โข Durable โ provides great protection for the concrete floor Cons: โข The kit only comes with 1 lb of decorative flakes, which is not enough if you want that high-end โfull broadcastโ look What I did differently (highly recommend): I purchased an additional 13 lbs of flakes, which made a huge difference and gave it that near full-flake, showroom-quality finish. Pro Tips: โข Prep is everything: use a degreaser + etching solution, then let the floor dry completely โข Donโt rush the processโgood prep = long-lasting results โข Add a clear topcoat + anti-slip additive (sold separately) for a more professional, durable, and safer finish Overall, this kit is an excellent value and delivers great results. With a little extra investment in flakes and topcoat, you can achieve a finish that rivals professional installations.

Say BAM when throwing the color flakes!
Good product used a couple times now. It's all in the prep (most time consuming) for this product. Ideally you have a pressure washer and some arm grease for cleaning and etching the floor. Goes on easy and looks great. Make sure your epoxy bag isn't shipped to you with one side of the pouch hard. This means it's already gone off and you will need a refund and reorder. Take your time and enjoy the ride. To really make the floor professional, add the Rust-Oleum clear epoxy topcoat and use the anti slip packet (separate purchases). This makes it way stronger, no slip, and gives it that showroom Sheen. It also helps when you throw the color flakes to say BAM in an Emeril voiceover. Have fun...

Covers great
Application is easy with a roller and handle. Covers very well. Thinner than I expected and covered more area than the instructions stated. Easy water clean up.

Did Not Work
about 18 years ago, I used this product on my garage floor and it was beautiful. Over the years the tire tracks wore and to eliminate the dust, I wanted it done again. Last year we bought this product and had professional painters prep the garage floor as per the instructions and apply the product. It was beautiful! I was so happy. We waited longer than the time stated to drive on it. But merely months after application, the tire tracks once again started to wear. Right down to the concrete! I contacted Rust-Oleum, submitted pictures, spoke to a representative who told me this was due to moisture seeping into the floor. And they would do nothing to assist with the cost of the product or recommend anything to help. Not even a year later, I am left with what looks like an 18year old worn garage floor with tracks from both cars - and NO where else - completely worn. AWFUL. There is NO evidence of moisture in the garage floor and there never has been. This produce lasted for many years the first time so I am extremely disappointed and saddened by the fact that Rust-Oleum did pretty much nothing to assist.

Great product and brand
Easy instructions and I looked up how to prepare the floor, since mine was previously painted. So fingers crossed this holds up. But it was easy to apply and put down the paint chips. I was able to do small sections at a time no problem and completed my 2 car garage floor . This brand was also recommended to hold up to humidity and heat which is what I needed.

Great Product
I ordered this product, and it works as advertised, I would caution you.... this product is easy to apply, but do not be mistaken, the outcome of this product is completely dependent on the preparation of the surface. I used the etching compound as advertised, and it worked on 90% of the floor, however, there were some trouble spots that required special attention. The only true way to test or veryify that this product is ready to apply is to house down your garage floor and look for what I will refer to as "water breaks" which visible by the water immediately clearing from the area immediately following remove a stream of water from it, almost like on a waxed car surface. You know how when you wax your car and you take a water hose to it and it repels the water. If this happens in areas on your garage floor, it is usual evidence that there is some type of petroleum based substance that has been onsorbed into your concrete or there is still some type of concrete sealer present. There is a very cheap method that I used to get rid of these water breaks that I had on my garage. Go and buy yourself some good old fashioned cat litter, apply it to the dry problem area and then work the cat litter into the troubled area with your feet (we in the Navy that have visited NAS Fallon Nevada like to refer to this as the Fallon Shuffle), so what you are essentially doing is working the product (it's an abrasive) into the spot and basically removing it like sand paper would, keep doing this effectively, kind of like a chicken my scrtach through brush or move your feet in a shuffling motion being sure to work the litter into the entire area. When you have finished, sweep up the remaining litter and then take the house back to it, if the area stays wet, you have successfully removed your trouble spot. Repeat this procedure om the remaining areas. So as you can see, there is a lot of prep work that needs to go into the floor prior to paining. I am curious how to perform touch-up on trouble spots if they arise. Does anyone have any experince with this?

All my neighbors keep coming by to check out my fancy garage work!
We just bought a new house and the garage looked dirty and gloomy. My brother-in-law used the gray color on HIS new garage, and I thought it looked pretty classy! I never had a garage before, and didn't think I'd use it for much. Maybe to park in, and keep the garbage cans, some storage shelves, and a chest freezer. I decided to to upgrade the space with this Rustoleum product for several reasons... Mainly because it looks pretty great, but also because I'm hoping it will be easier to KEEP clean. Spills will be easier to wipe up, and not leave any stains, and the concrete should start in fantastic condition for the life of the house, I hope! The whole process wasn't too difficult. I swept everything really good, then scrubbed it with the cleaning stuff. I pressure washed it clean, and chased the water out with a squeegee. After it dried, painting was pretty fun, with a can for each side of the garage, and all the edges. I was amazed how each can was exactly the right amount with hardly any leftover. I wasn't going to add the sprinkles, but someone mentioned that it helped camouflage any cracks or defects in the concrete, and that definitely was the case, so I'm pleased. A tip I found useful was to take an old bottle of spices with bigger holes and use that to shake the sprinkles around in the paint. I used an old bottle of red pepper flakes, and that helped the sprinkles come out nice and evenly. Everyone agreed that using the sprinkles was the right choice.

Product does not cover 200-250 square foot!
I was concerned that the volume of ipoxy paint, once mixed together, would not cover my entire 21m2 (226 square foot) garage and that is exactly what happened! There is an area of approximately 10m2 (108 square foot) that needs additional ipoxy paint to cover the floor evenly and fill all the little uneven areas. Very disappointed that I will now most likely need to buy another kit to finish this job... ๐ก
