Rolodex Electronic Organizer. Model RF-192
A**R
Ancient technology. Incompatible with any modern computer. Wait for better product.
This product is NOT as advertised. It is something like 15 year old technology. The description says you can hook it up to your computer. Well, when you get the package (and you must open it to find out) the method to connect it is an old serial port which haven't been on computers I've owned since the 1990's !!! seriously ! The fine print not shown in the product description is that it is compatible with Windows 95 or 98. Returning it.Update: before returning it I wanted to see if it worked at all out of the package. Nope. Batteries dead. Replaced them. Takes 2-ECR 2032 button batteries. No ability to hook a charger to it even if you had one. The display came on, but had line drop-outs in several spots (lines missing).I would love to see Rolodex make a new, competent version of this product, a little larger for desk use, bigger and fast lighted display, USB connection to computer, use LION battery, come with a shut-off dock-type charger to be able to stay plugged in for desk-top use if desired, accept standard spreadsheet or database files and come with a program on disk you could run in Office or Open Office that included fields that became searchable. Should have lots of field choices to include as many or few as desired. Ideally I'd love to see the product have a quick-search function on the keyboard. Hit Search, hit a letter, takes you to the D's for instance. Then twist a side knob wheel to quickly advance through that alphabet letter's listings like turning a paper Rolodex showing only the first line of each listing in larger letters to speed the process to find names you couldn't quite remember. Also, able to sort by category (a field) for business listings like a database. Guess I'll send this to Rolodex.
