VS-3FZ-IFR07 Simul-Focal Trinocular Zoom Stereo Microscope | 10x WF Eyepiece, 0.7X—4.5X Zoom, 3.5X—90x Magnification, 0.5X & 2X Aux Lens

This was a big purchase for me. I have wanted a microscope for some time but could not justify the expense. I tried a couple USB microscopes but neither delivered the image quality I was looking for. Then I found Vision Scientific. The price was still a stretch but within reach. Still a nagging concern; will a microscope at this price be any good? I finally took the plunge and am very happy with my decision. From my first usages I observed interesting and unexpected things like a juvenile sea anemone on a kelp leaf and tiny isopods living on a kelp holdfast. I am only beginning to explore the capabilities if this instrument. After a couple weeks I discovered a problem. I had received 2 of the 2.0X barlow lens and no 0.5X. I contacted Vision Scientific and they immediately made it right. Another good decision; buy from a seller with North America presence. I wholeheartedly rate this product 5 stars but I will mention a few limitations I have found. - The included ring light is not bright enough for higher magnifications. Probably OK for industrial inspection but I need more light for biologic observations. Also, when viewing objects with reflective surfaces the LEDs appear as circles in the image. Neither issue is a surprise since I have used this type of light previously at work. Installing a diffuser on the light improved the circles but made the illumination worse. I am working on an alternate light source since I can’t currently afford a nice professional dual-head flex light. - So far I have not been able to achieve consistent focus through the zoom range. This could be an issue with my setup and I am still working on optimization. Nevertheless, at this point I need to refocus after changing the zoom. Not a deal killer and I have experienced the same on other microscopes. Just another fiddle when trying to capture an image.

Really nice microscope, identical to amscope I would be surprised if they were made by the same manufacturer. Boy is it heavier than it looks though! The single arm base in my opinion is the way to go as well.

The quality of the microscope is excellent. Although, I found that the focus adjustment is a little tight and the head clamp a little loose. This results in the head rotating when trying to focus because of additional pressure you have to apply to focus. The dust cover supplied doesn't come close to fitting, so I had to slit the back of the cover to use it.

Works great for watch repair and case finishing. I'm 74 and this really helps my poor eyesight. Grandkids like for examining coins, leaves, etc. safe and easy for them to use.

When I have to fix a link on 0.5mm box chain the microscope is essential. The clarity and relief on my eyes has made stone setting enjoyable again. If you’re a jeweler and looking for a microscope, this is a great option. And I don’t personally think the $2500 unit is any better. I love mine.

I use this exact scope every day at work for soldering and I love it so much I bought one for my personal projects at home. Everything about it is well made and the clarity is unreal. The focus and zoom knobs move very smooth and I can zoom in very far to perform very precise cutting and rework of tiny PCB traces. I use the 0.5x lens and it allows me to have the scope high off of the work surface to allow lots of room for my hands and soldering iron. The fact it's a trinocular means I can easily add a camera to take pictures of my work. It also came well packaged in thick Styrofoam and was easily put together, and came with a cover. I have no doubt I'll have this scope forever

Had some of this brand before, i like it. It's equivalent to Amscope but better price.
