When I actually was able to connect it at the intended jobsite with a true 1Gig to Gig connection, it fired right up and worked great.I used this converter as a lightning protector. It is connected to a 150' buried copper cable run to an out building in lightning prone Florida.In this way, I hope that if struck, this $12.00 module will be first in line to fail and perhaps protect and save the much more expensive 16 port PoE switch and all the camera and video gear connected to it.Cheap insurance, I say.To avoid this issue if necessary, I believe they also sell an auto-negotiate version of this unit for a few more bucks.Other than that, it was a great bargain and is still working great. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Working as expected. *by G***W on March 2, 2025* These work just fine with Ubiquiti; however, they will not work with Gen 1. They do work with Gen 2 though. Do your research first before buying these. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great *by J***C on August 15, 2024* Using these modules to create a fiber connection between my upstairs and downstairs 1 gig managed switches. My downstairs switch, is a Zyxel 1 gig 24 port managed switch, And it recognized the module no problem. The switch upstairs is a bit older of a lesser brand switch that is smaller, which also recognized it without a problem.
