Checking out at the grocery store, the lady in front of me had her produce in some cotton mesh bags. I asked where she found them and she said online. Found these bags on Amazon and ordered them. Very happy to not need to use those pesky plastic bags in the fruit and veggie aisles. These are sturdy bags which hold more than you think. I don't bother to ask at checkout to consider the weight of the bags but you can as each bag has a tag on it providing the tare weight. One more step in replacing plastic in my home with organic items.

Nice quality, good size. Looks good enough to stay in the kitchen (which is a big deal in my home.) The drawstring keeps the opening closed. The air holes are small enough to contain small cloves.

I got these bags so I wouldn't have to use those plastic produce bags at the grocery store. I subtracted a star because of the plastic used for the closing mechanism-it was supposed to be wood and it's not. No biggie but it completely negates the purpose of the bag which is to reduce plastic use. Anyway, besides that small disappointment I love the bags! Most grocery store check out clerks can see through the mesh fine and can see the fruit I'm buying. Some have had issues but I just tell them what it is in those cases. I keep the produce bags in one of my reusable grocery bags and I take them all in with me when I do my shop. I honestly never even thought about the plastic bags for produce, and I've been using reusable bags for years! These are a good quality and in very pleased-besides the plastic toggle. They should also reconsider the packaging-they came in a plastic bag within a box. Totally unnecessary-these can't get damaged in transit and they could be wrapped in paper easily. Just a suggestion! People who buy these are probably trying to be more eco minded so the plastic bag is a slap in the face. I haven't had to clean these but if I did I'd just have wash them. But again, I don't need to clean them. I don't use them in the fridge, I empty the contents and put the bags back into my car until the next shop. I read some people keep the produce in the bags, in the fridge, but that's just not what I do. I would probably look for a bag with no toggle or a wooden toggle next time I need produce bags, but these are going to last a while. Even if the plastic toggle breaks I can just do a slip knot or something.

These bags are great. They definitely keep my potatoes and onions from going bad. So much better than the plastic potato bag that potatoes come in. My potatoes always started spouting within a week of purchase. These bags definitely helped. Worth it!

These are good quality and perfect for my garlic and onions. The mesh is such that the onion skins that dry and peel off in the normal drying process do not escape through the mesh. Which I would have purchased these years ago instead of storing my veggies in paper bags.

Wonderful well made bag. I’m using it to store my washed greens instead of plastic bags and it’s working well.

Heavy cotton and no plastic. There is a good variety of sizes for me to use for assorted vegetables and not continue to use plastic bags in the grocery store!
