I’m really pleased with this proving basket. It’s well made, sturdy, and feels like good quality rattan rather than something flimsy or decorative-only. I’ve used it for sourdough and homemade bread, and it holds its shape well while proving. The size is ideal for a standard loaf, and it gives a lovely pattern to the bread once baked. It was easy to prepare before first use and cleans up well with a quick brush once dry. It also looks nice enough to leave out in the kitchen, which is a bonus. A great addition if you enjoy baking bread at home or are just starting out. I’d happily buy another.

I don’t usually give reviews, but on this one i have to. To be honest i didn’t had much expectations at this price, but really surprised me. The quality is great, it came with a nice embordered cloth . I give it 5*

I have made a few moderately successful sourdough loaves in the past (and a few house bricks) but decided to up my game and, as part of that, bought this. I think a proper banneton really does help. I have made superb loaves with just white flour and with a mix of wholemeal too.

I would recommend to friends and family. Delivered on time, well package. Made from quality sturdy materials, will last a long time. Good size for a nice loaf. Bread dough came straight out no sticking to the bowl, so was easy to use and was easy to clean, I used a new tooth brush. Customer service contacted me to see what I thought of it which was a nice touch also.

The basket seems to be exactly the same as the ones that cost half the price. It came with a desiccant so they seem to have learned their lesson from people saying theirs arrived moldy. The dough scraper is the smallest and most basic possible. They have at least chosen a plastic of just about suitable properties, a cheap thermo-setting resin. But can't have cost more than about £0.01 to manufacture. Better ones would have much better non-stick properties and be much bigger. The only thing I can say for it is that it's got a better edge than my dustpan, so it's better than my dustpan for dividing dough and cleaning up the worktop. But it's not large enough to shape a boule, or lift a loaf into the basket, so I'll have to carry on using my dustpan for those jobs. The lame is a throw-away item. Proper ones use a replaceable shaving razor blade. But this one is molded in, so when the blade loses its edge you'll have to throw it away. And the blade is not even the quality of a razorblade - as several other people have found, it was already tarnished on receipt. I did not find it scored the dough any better than the craft modelling knife I have been using, which I can at least sharpen in a diamond sharpener. The information sheet has nothing of any use to anyone and went straight in the bin.

Excellent proofing basket, leaves nice patterning on loaf. The linen cover is fine for covering the dough for a short amount of time (folding every 30 mins, say) but if left for longer, ie 6 hours, the dough dries out on the top. The plastic scraper is useful albeit not as sharp as the metal ones the professionals use but will do this beginner sourdough baker for the time being. The lame is really not very sharp - not sure why. Maybe the manufacturer thinks it’s too dangerous or something? It was sharp enough to nick my finger (so take care when taking off the guard!) but not much use for scoring the bread. As some folk say, go figure. This is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

Ich habe das Gärkörbchen schon fleißig im Gebrauch, es klappt bestens. Auf Grund der guten Rezessionen bestellt und auch nicht bereut. Das Körbchen riecht nicht, der Teig bleibt nicht kleben und jede Menge Zubehör. Den Teigschaber benutze ich immer, das Messer eher seltener. Man kann es mit Leineneinsatz verwenden, es klappt aber tadellos auch ohne. Kann ich gerne empfehlen.
