No reason to put 2 coats on, the second coat just beads up and runs off. I Put it on old brickwork that I had to do tuck pointing on. It sealed the new mortar and old brick with no issues. I put it on with the temp just at the low end 50*and it still dried pretty fast under 30 min. The old brick really sucked up the sealer so I only covered about 30 sq ft in 1/2 gallon.
