Smuggler - The Complete Series [DVD] (1981) (2-Disc Set)

I cannot speak to the quality of the show as I haven't seen it. When it arrived about three weeks ago disc 1 did not play. I sent it back and received a refund. I then bought it again and that disc 1 had the same defect. This time I didn't ask for a refund but a replacement which arrived in very good time but this too had the same defect. I suspect that the entire consignment is defective.

For me a swashbuckling blast from the past and a lot of fun that is ideal for a rainy Sunday afternoon the children and grandchildren will enjoy this one as well as we olds the transfer to DVD is very good, I well remember the lead actress who appears today in a very popular soap being the envy of every girl I knew, good uncomplicated stories on two disks,wonder what became of the Welsh actor who played the young lad.

Shot amidst beautiful English coastal scenery & period costumes very accurate but hampered by a mediocre script with hammy acting. Not suitable viewing for anyone over 14.

If you enjoy watching Oliver Tobias then you will definitely enjoy this. This is a really sweet mini series which I don't remember viewing when it was first broadcast. I particularly enjoyed the obvious outdoor location filming.

One of those rare rare shows that are just good as when you watched them at the time. Back in the day when children's TV as quite adult and good quality. One for everyone esp those who quite like Oliver Tobias.
