Nice, normal, typical 4-ply non-woven sponges. If you’re wondering some about non-woven vs. woven differences here’s a side by side comparison of these 4-ply versus 8-ply woven (yes, that’s twice as many ply and even still the 8-ply woven are significantly thinner.) Google is friendly for what is best used for what and non-woven are the most versatile. The 8-ply in this pic were mislabeled as non-woven.

Good size and very absorbent

First off, this is not a super-absorbent, soft-to-the-touch, 12-ply gauze pad. They are not as thick as the pictures show, they are not 12 ply, the cotton itself is very coarse and thick. I've had no issues with them because the actual product is exactly what I'm looking for. Cheap gauze pads that don't hurt to remove and are sold in bulk to make regular redressings easy on the wallet and skin. That's exactly what these are, and on small wounds the thinness of them is actually preferable, as thicker pads like CVS ones are very noticeable and don't stretch, somewhat causing immobility if they're in a place like the armpit. This is an issue these pads do not have. They absorb far more than I expected pads of this thickness to, but I still wouldn't recommend using these on large, heavily bleeding wounds. Tldr: Do not buy if you're looking for what this product claims to be. Buy if you're looking for a cheap, thin, and painless gauze pad to regularly dress a relatively small weeping wound with.

The description for these gauze pads is incorrect. They are not non-stick. I ordered them and learned the hard way that they are just very skimpy gauze pads. The box reads Sterile Gauze Pads, although the Amazon descrption says they are MedPride Sterile Gauze Dressing Pads Individually Wrapped, Nonstick. The same brand, MedPride, also makes a Non-Adherent Pad, but I thought the description would be accurate so I ordered the Sterile Gauze Pads. 'Non-Stick' should be removed from the description. I am treating an open wound and need pads that don't stick so these are worthless for me. My dr. gave me some pads that are wonderful, but I'm running out. I've now ordered some non-adherent pads made by McKesson.
